Has anyone been told by gyn that progesterone level was low and still got pregnant (naturally)??

I haven't but I know people who have gotten pregnant naturally with low progesterone levels but it's really not recommended. If it were me, I'd wanna be medically treated if I had low progesterone cuz it can lead to miscarriage.

I am confused because my gyn told me I have small cysts in my ovaries but that he would not diagnose me with PCOS since I have regular menstrual cycles, 32 days. I have all the symptoms around my ovulation time, ewcm, ovulation pain, breast tendernes, etc. The only thing is that my progesterone was low the month they did my test. What do you think?

Well, usually with PCOS your cycles will be irregular but since you're having regular cycles and still ovulating, you may still have PCOS but not severe. It could be mild but I think he should still rule it out with blood work. Just to be on the safe side cuz he dunno if this is the beginning of it and it gets worse. Not trying to scare you but I had no clue I had PCOS until a few days ago when my gyn got my sonogram results back. I had a cyst back in 2009 before I conceived my son and I wonder if it all began then cuz my cycle was off then too. Now, I have cysts covering both ovaries. I'm normally 25 days but now I'm 37 days. But as for your progesterone, you can ask your doc if there's anything he can put you on to control it so if you do get pregnant you don't run the risk of losing the baby cuz it can happen with low levels.

I have LPD ( low progesterone) Ive gotten pregnant naturally but i have a hard time with the baby sticking past my period due date. Im supposed to start taking prog when i get a positive test so i test from 7 dpo on

Rukiegirl,
Do you have regular cycles? How long have you been trying to conceive?

I have pretty regular cycles they range from 27 days to 33 days , Ive been trying for 10 years but i just found out about the lpd last year

my friend did. When she got her BFP, her progesterone was 3. She is now 16 weeks along.

I have a 5.8 Progesterone level, Do you think i can still get pregnant? I was tested on CD22 instead of CD21 could that be why because they tested too late?? I am so frustrated!!

It's not the exact cd that's important, it's the days post ovulation that's important. 7dpo actually. I had my progesterone done and I temped because I wanted to be sure of my dpo and I never ov on cd14.

5.8 seems pretty low. What does your doc think?

i had my progesterone done because i had a mc before and wanted to make sure this bean sticks this time and i found out my progesterone today: 31.9 for 4w3d bloodwork and my dr said that anything over 25 is reassuring so i would think that if your progesterone is low the dr will usually prescribe you progesterone suppostaries (which statistically work better than taking pills). otherwise without progesterone suppostaries/cream/pills, the risk for miscarriage is higher because progesterone's purpose is to make the lining in yout uterus thick for the egg to implant AND to keep yourself pregnant until the placenta takes over progesterone productoin at 12w. with low progesterone it's just harder for the egg to stay.

I didnt find out until I was pregnant with my youngest that I had low progesterone. I started bleeding at 7 weeks and was put on a progesterone pill.

Absolutely:thumbup:
Honestly, I wouldn't want someone who doesn't know what they're doing, to be treating me.
Maybe look for a new doc that is more knowledgeable.

so glad I found this I was told as well CD 21 blood work my progestrone is low. i was upset but reading everything I can get PG again. just with meds i am hopping

My sister did! She had PCOS and got pregnant "on accident" and right before they were going to try another round of provera and clomid she took an hpt just to be sure and it was positive! She knew from her first clomid pregnancy that she was low progesterone so she started taking progesterone right after she got her BFP and everything was fine (with both kids). GL!

mine on cd 21 was only 3.3. Its not terrible unless you definately have ovulated. i think if i did at all this cycle it sould have been only a day beofore or after the blood was taken. i think they have to do blood tests up to AF arriving to see if your progesterone is ok

I am having a similar problem. I had my day 21 blood test done yesterday. Today I got the test results back and my progesterone was at 3.5. I am doing my 2nd cycle of clomid at 150 mg. During my first cycle of clomid, my progesterone was at 2.7, and they said I did not ovulate. This time, they said I could have ovulated since my progesterone level was above 3. On the internet, I have read that progesterone levels should be above 7 or 10 or even 15 to show ovulation. Has your doctor said what level your progesterone should be at? Thanks for any information that you can provide!

Liz
