Low sperm count and form.Tips, motivation and reassurance needed.

Hi everyone

I'm Catherine, I live in South Africa. My fiance and I were to be married on the 11th April but due to the Coronavirus lockdow, we have had to postpone our wedding date. I'm 26 and my OH is 29.

So we decided to try conceiving about a year ago due to thinking that I had issues with my hormones and my oestragen levels were low (I had all the syptoms). We decided to go to a homeopath doctor who spcializes in infertility. He sent my fiance for a sperm analysis and me for blood work such as progesterone, Oestragen, LH etc. My results seem to have come back normal as far as I can interpret the results and OH results did not come back so great. His sperm count is 18million but only 7million are normal (it should be 14million ad up). There are other aspects that I am waiting for the doctor to explain the rest. The lab comments are stating that the semen is subfertile as the prescence of abnormal sperm is high.

Has anyone been through this and successfully gotten pregnant? what did you take/do.

Similar situation. DH and I have been TTC our first since 2015. Went to a specialist and he’s got very low sperm leading us to a 2% chance of conceiving. He had a sperm analysis and the numbers were very low. Basically the specialty dr said we’re better off IVF which is expensive in the US. I’m sorry I don’t know and don’t have any answers but you’re not alone. If you have social media I follow Gabriela Rosa and her group called National Fertility Breakthrough on Facebook. That group has several success stories on couples who have tried many fertility treatments and have failed and have since became pregnant naturally with the help of this group. They have lots of information there. I also follow Nutrition and Wellness for Infertility on Facebook. I hope this helps.
