I've been experiencing this for a few weeks now and not really sure why but it sucks and I haven't been able to find anything that helps. It feels like sciatica but I can't pinpoint exactly where it's coming from. One minute I'll be okay and the next I'm limping around like an old lady. If I sneeze or cough I get a sharp pain in my lower back and feel like I'm going to fall over if I'm standing. I tried yoga today to see if it would help and I thought I was going to need help to get off my back, it hurt so much. Anyone else experiencing this and know what might be causing it or any remedies? I'm worried what it will be like once I'm actually big if it's already this bad this early on.

I have experienced this with all three pregnancies. With DD and DS, it started at 16 weeks. With this pregnancy, it started a couple of days ago.

Mine starts up when I sleep. If I sleep on my left side, I will wake up 30 minutes later with excruciating soreness and pain radiating from my lower ribs down to my knee on that side. Then I flip to the right side and get the same thing on the right side after 30 minutes. If I sleep on my back, 30 minutes later it's horrible knee and lower back pain. When I wake up, I can't do anything but hobble around for the first 1-2 hours. I can't bend my legs or back without strong pinching pain. For me the pain seems focused at the hips and radiates outward from there.

For both previous pregnancies, doctors had no explanation except 1) my retro uterus bulges into a bundle of nerves or 2) that my body has a particularly strong reaction to relaxin, and it causes my joints to overstretch when even the slightest pressure is applied to them.

Unfortunately for me, it has always lasted until delivery and disappeared within about 48 hours of delivering. I went on Flexeril for the third trimester with DD and it helped a tiny bit. I eventually stopped taking the Flexeril because it made me feel very dopey and depressed. The pain did not really get worse as my belly grew. It was bad when it started, and it was bad at the end. I just got better at sleeping through the pain as the pregnancy wore on. I suppose the fact that it didn't progress might be good news?
