Lucky?

What do you think about the name Lucky for a boy? I personally hate it, but my hubby loves it! I constantly tell him, "sorry dear, I'm not having a black lab". How can I get him to agree that it's a name you give your puppy, not your baby?

No idea Id kinda agree if it was a girl though lol , hmmm you could always have it as the middle name lol it is a bit odd for a name though.

I like it as a middle name for a girl better....
Hmmm is it the connotation he likes?
Maybe if so - chose a name that means lucky in Gaelic or some such

He likes it because he wants the middle name to be Matthew which is his first name, therefore the baby's name would be; Lucky Matthew, meaning Matthew the FOB is Lucky. Does that make sense? Either way I think it's lame... haha He also says he wants to call him Luck for short. I like the idea though of finding the meaning of Lucky in Gaelic. He is very Irish! We both got tattoos that say 'One Love', except his is written in Gaelic.

Lucky, IMO, is a nickname or a pet's name -- as you pointed out

I think Lucia for a girl with the nn Lucky is kinda cute too!

Apparently this translates as Lucky one -In Irish, duine ámharach or ceann ámharach . I agree that Lucky is a pets name though. xx

I personally don't like it as a childs name. It might be one of those names the children hate you for when they grow up!! LOL! I use to have a cat named lucky because it got hit by a car when it was a baby and i saved it!

Yes it reminds me of a dogs name and also it could possibly be a jinx and baby could end up unlucky tell him!

Bando does sound like a clown's name! You could maybe use Brando - like Marlon Brando.

Haha seriously! He is half welsh and apparently Bando is a welsh name. I really could not call my son Bando! I think the fact that every person i tell about it laughs and agrees on the clown thing has put him off abit....i hope!

Brandon is much better! At least you can tell you DH it has all the letters of Bando

i think lucky is quite a nice idea as a middle name for a boy. would hve to go with something a bit on the different side of names to 'normal' names thought for it to sound good. or biblical names sound good with it,

p.s brandon is better than bando and ive never heard of the welsh name bando and my grandparents lived there for 7 years and never heard of bando either!

What about Loki, Norse god of mischief I think. It's not my cup of tea but I know someone with that name.
