Okay, so I'm still fairly new at TTC. my question is this: is it possible to have a very short luteal phase? I got a positive ok on 12/11/15 and normally AF starts around the 20th of every month. Is this normal? Can it be that short?

a 9 day LP is short but can be normal. You may want to talk to your gyno or doc about different ways you can stretch out your LP. An LP that short may not have enough time for implantation.

An LP can be as short as 9 days. But, if you ovulate later than normal, then that will push back your LP too. If you're concerned about a short LP, vitamin B-complex can help. It will give you a couple more days on the end of your LP, which can increase your chances to get preggo.

Good luck!

I agree with everyone else. Also, you can get more than one LH surge in a cycle so you may not have ovulated when you thought. The only way to tell for sure is to also chart with BBT.

If you have a short LP it could be a LP defect? Nothing wrong and not trying to scare you!:) Just something to look into. Where the egg doesnt have time to implant before your body tells AF to start. You might want to look into Vitex! It helps regulate hormones that control those kinds of things. It helped me shorten up my FP because it was so long. Like months..
