What do you think of the name Mary, is it too old fashioned? my grandma just passed away and that was her name, and if we had a girl i was thinking of using it as a first name

It's not my style - but it's a nice sentiment. I would use it as a middle name only, personally. However, i'm sure there are many ppl that would like the name (a lot of ppl like old-fashioned names). I can see people thinking Mary is refreshingly simple & sweet.

Are your children's names Scott & Zayden? Mary is a very different style, especially compared to Zayden.

I like it but it does feel a bit plain to me, I'd probably look for a longer name with Mary as a nickname, personally.

yes my boys are Scottie and Zayden, Thats what i was afraid of that it would maybe be to simple in compairison to my boys names, thanks for your imput

Some people may think it seems plain like "Jane" but in an era where everyone is trying to overcompensate with uniqueness, I think it will stand out elegantly. I, personally, wouldn't use Mary because I'm avoiding religious names, but it's a beautiful choice to honor a loved one.

Its a little plain, especially compared to your sons names....but I love the family meaning. If you want to honor your grandmother, then go for it! Older names are in now anyways!

I agree with this. It does feel like everyone is trying to overcompensate with uniqueness these days! Mary is a timeless classic pretty name x

Lovely, as for the different style well. I have ds1 John Michael, ds2 Robert Glen and DD Mariade Elizabeth - Mariade is pronounced Luke parade but with n M)
