If you go back to work part time, do you receive SMP and on top of that your salary.......or does SMP stop and you just receive your salary.

I am not due to go back to work till November, but I'm thinking of going back part-time next month...am wondering if it is worth it financially?

if you go back to work early you will stop geting smp or mat pay and just get your part time wage

you can however do 10 keep in touch days with your employer and they can pay you for them without it effecting your smp

During your period of SMP, you are entitled to return to work for a maximum of 10 keeping in touch days, where you may receive remuneration for those days without renegating your entitlement to SMP. If you return to work, even if on a part time basis, which exceeds these 10 keeping in touch days, you will no longer be entitled to receive SMP. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me at Babylaw, details of which can be found on our website.
