Maternity Pay UK

Hi,

i am going on maternity leave in April and i know i'll receive the standard £137.00 ish a week after the 90% pay for a 6 week period.

what i wanted u guys to tell me is how much that roughly works out at a month in my bank account? after the 6 weeks is up. obvioulsy i know 4 weeks x £137.00 but i wanna know what will actually show in my account, and if it fluctuates, between what and what?? just so i have a rough idea thats all.

For my pay, I have the 137 a week monthly, based on the number of sundays in the month. So for december I got 5 times the 137.

If you do any kit days you can get a whole days pay for that as well.

You may also get some tax back (maybe not in april because its a new tax year) but because my pay has gone down and I paid tax from april 2013 then I am getting a rebate each month.

I still have a pension deduction as well coming from my pay.

So Ithink it will be pretty indivdual. Someone else may know more mind...

thanks amy, all i wanted to hear! a rough amount. so plus the £20 a week child benefit that everyone gets, im looking around £620 as a ball park.

I get paid every four werks and get roughly £540

I get about about £540 but have actually been recieving £580 as iv been getting tax back with each pay.

Yip, £540 SMP and £80 CB per month. If your partner had a lower income you can apply for working tax credits. I receive £90 a week WTC as my husband is a student x

I've been getting about 600quid a month but have had tax back each month too.

I think it works as a 5-4-4 pay, some weeks you get 5 weeks some 4 as there's not 4 weeks in a month. Including a bit of tax back I get £586 on a 4 week and £750 on a 5 week.

ive just done the calulcator onthe GOV website that is for employers to work out what they pay.

it comes out as 586 some months and 605 others, how does this work? as it seems slightly higher than i was expecting?
