I was honest with my work about my health problems (Glue ear and tinitus) in the hope that they would be understanding and maybe assign my more admin work (I work in a call centre) - and while my manager was great and really understanding because I'm a temp I may not be able to 'fulfil the role' and therefore I'm going to have to be reviewed. Basically I can either go to my Dr's next week and tell them to sort my Ear out or I will lose my job, or I can keep on going and have my boss watching my every move......who said honesty was the best policy?! 
At least you've been honest with them, I got sacked few years back while I was lying in itu 
they wouldn't believe me. Can't you take any notes in from your doctor to show they are doing all they can? xx
