But i don't understand why EVERY person i know starts our conversation with the same question ; 'How are the babies?' or 'How are the twins doing?'

Erm, you do realise they aren't here yet right?!? They are INSIDE ME! I don't know how they are doing! I don't have a door on my belly to peer in and see!

Why not just ask me how i'm doing/how i'm feeling/how it's all going????

I don't really understand it. I've NEVER asked a pregnant woman how her developing child in her womb is, i just ask her how SHE is!!

Or maybe i'm just having one of those days! :haha:

My sis always asks how the baby is doing .... no one cares about me anymore

Totally agree!! Drives me mad too! What a stupid question to ask!! hahahah!! perhaps it is hormones but I don't care, it bugs me so there!! hahahahaha! :hugs:

Once the bun is in the oven, people really only check on the food... Mind you, once the babies are born, you'll be driven round the bend by everyone going 'so...*pause* how àre you...?' (notice how even there the emphasis is not on you) and they'll only be really listening if your reply confirms everything they already think anyway ie you're knackered.

The next time someone asks how the babies are, just say they're making great progess on their Latin conjugation but the trigonometry is still a bit slow.

YES!!!

My OH has even started kissing my belly goodbye in the mornings instead of me!

I am still here - I'm not just a baby carrier!!!

Hope asks me that all the time after she has asked how my day has been...but she is only 7 lol

'hi mummy, how are you? has Sunny been good today...or has he been kicking you lots?'

Yep, I feel like that too! Especially frustrating as I am having complications so I wish I bloody did know how the babies were doing but like you say, I don't have a door to have a look in!!! Grrrrrrrr.

See, I get asked how I am doing all the time and I hate that. I don't like sharing that I still barf once a day and feel tired and wiped out all day and nauseous almost all the time. I would really like to say great or at least fine, they want a full report. I'll be glad when the focus is off me and onto the baby!

my BIL does the same thing, not h,i hello, how are you, but "how is baby" and the best one "is the baby growing bigger yet" well obviously he is getting bigger (the size of my bump anyhow) but it is not like i go measuring him everyday and asking him how he is..

it bugs me too hun, one of these days i think i will just ignore him, maybe he will get the hint......

It drives me up the wall! When people ask by text or bbm i just ignore them now! Bloody annoyance!!

Lol, I was thinking the same thing actually. It is pretty silly to ask how the baby is doing whenever you don't even know yourself.

yeah but then it gets you thinking oh IS the baby ok? (paranoa)

I get things like, "I hope you are feeling better." And I want to retort, "well, sorry to get your HOPES up, but I'm not." Why not just ask if I'm feeling better, instead of imply its some sort of inconvenience to them that I'm still sick? LOL

I get "how's the baby?" all of the time! I never know how to answer because I'm pretty sure that the person asking doesn't want to hear about ultrasound measurements, what her heart rate was at my last visit, etc. I don't understand it. Like you, I've never asked a pregnant woman about her unborn child...other than when the baby was due.

Hahaha, so glad others get the same thing and get annoyed by it, i thought all my friends were just a bit thick, lol!

I had another text just now... 'What's new with the twins?'

Erm...

I should just reply with loads of hospital jargon and measurements from my previous scan reports and see what they say, lol.

Everything is about baby now and not you..
Just wait til after they're born... You'll get people saying oh i bought you a present! And it turns out to be baby toys or things for the baby(ies) to use :growlmad:
