Hey lovely ladies Im looking for a wee bit of help.

Currently we live in a 2 bedroom house and have a 5 year old little girl, we are due a little boy in December and cant afford to move to a bigger house yet (especially with SMP :() I am trying to get everywhere decorated especially Molly and Bubs room (it really needs freshened up) it is pink just now but we are trying to think of something nice to do so they can both grow in it for a few years til we can get a bigger mortgage, but dont want Molly to feel like its not her room anymore does that make sense? Has anyone had to decorate for a little girl and boy sharing? What did you do? xxxxxxxx

Red, dark blue, bright green & white. White curtains with fine stripes of colorful stars. white bed covers with colourful stripes. ABC floor mat. Omar's room is white (cot, book case, & changer) & we keep adding colorful accesories with bright colors. U can take ur DD with u when u choose accessories & furniture. xx

I havent decorated for both but my little girls room is magnolia with a rainforest theme - so lots of bright green, purples, blues etc. Its not overly boyish as its bright colours not boy colours so suits both.

I've just thought of the chicco bouncer we have for Ethan. It's yellow with spots and has pastel blue, pink, green and dark blue spots.
So, maybe a spotty theme, then you could have some pink for DD and blue for your little one along with other bright unisex colours like purple, green, orange, red, yellow. I'm thinking of some huge spots, some tiny, some inbetween, some overlapping. You could have cream walls and just groups of spots! You could then paint the knobs of furniture some of the diff. colours. Maybe even with bed linen, your little girl could have a spotty pink and red quilt and your little boy blue and green cot bumper (especially if you're crafty and can choose some fabric and make your own) or just plain colour block quilts and linen in the colours of some of the spots, e.g. pink pillows, purple quilt!

Or, choose a book theme e.g. Very Hungry Catterpillar. There is a super shop/lady called Jellibabies on Ebay who makes VHC cot bumpers, quilts, curtains etc. That way you have red and green as your main colours but lots of blue, yellow, orange as matching colours. (You can buy VHC fabric from Hobbycraft)

Hope I've given you a few more ideas :)

my siser had the room painted light blue red yellow and orange. she pained each wall a diff colour but all neutral colors but bright. she had a bed each side of the room one side all girls stuff one side all boys. she now lives in a 3 bed house but she lived in a 2 for years.

My new baby boy will have to share with my youngest daughter, her room is currently pink and pretty so I understand your frustration!
We are moving house, and we have painted the new bedroom white, white floorboards too, and I made red polka dot curtains and bunting in cheerful bright colours, I haven't kept it all primary colours, as I do think those colours alone are quite boyish.
Anyways, we have kinda just gone for a mad combination of rainbow colours, and I have made the duvet sets from similarly vibrant fabrics. We have lots of vintage fabrics and cushions, blankets etc thrown in for good measure, and some cute wall stickers.
None of the patterns match, but the colours all blend beautifully, can't wait to put it all together!
