Mayhem Babies! May 2011 mummies and babies

Wiggler my tip would've been to bypass potty, as well as praising him a lot when he goes. My little dude kicks me out now when he needs to go:haha:

Mil is definately a handful, can be ok in short doses and at a distance, gets grumpy lol

I'm scared it'll go wrong like weaning went wrong. How often should I ask him if he needs the toilet, how do I teach him to wipe his own bum? Just stuff like that. I'm clueless

I hope you survive your MILs visit, luckily my only problem with mine is that she only cares over FB :dohh:

I took him every hour at first or whenever he grabbed his crotch lol. He very quickly started asking for the toilet and taking himself there:thumbup:

Sorry about your mil:hugs: Mine cares very deeply for DH and the kids its just me she has an issue with:dohh:

 I have an 8 year old who STILL needs reminding to wipe his botty and flush the chain lol Although he does wash his hands, religiously lol (and brushes his teeth every time he washes his hands, hmmm dentist said this will be ok so long as he only uses a small amount of toothpaste lol)

My advice re the toileting would be all or nothing. trousers arent necessary in the house, but underpants are, and when you go out too. Personally dont like pull ups, but if thats preferred then in the house and out, not just when out. I also made the bathroom colourful with pictures etc so he'd sit on the toilet and look at them took his mind away from him using the toilet and we had no poop issues (some kids are scared to go), also kept him on the toilet a bit longer when I put him on to try. I think you meant to ask every 20-30 minutes. do they still do kandoo's?? we used this range.. if he pooped or wee'd he got a kandoo wipe to wipe himself, and kandoo soap to wash, if he did nothing he got soap. kandoo also did a sticker chart and stamps, but we didnt use them. Good luck!! lol

I think I will try and potty train him after OH bday, so end of July, that way all the exciting stuff is out of the way so there are no setbacks.

I dread to think that one day me and OH will be married and she will officially be my MIL :haha: At least my kids aren't missing out, my mum spoils them rotten and sees them as often as she can, Dylan probably wouldn't recognise MIL if she were to wallk in right now...

In laws sound hard work, joys of living life my way - I dont have them lol

I am so not looking forward to tonight, Bethany sleeps perfectly in her rocker, but as its not flat she can't sleep in it overnight, her snot really bothers her when she is laid flat and even propping up the moses basket a little bit doesn't help :(

George isnt flat in his hammock hun and this is licenced from birth for sleeping in. Could she not sleep in her rocker for a day or 2 until she is feeling better? Is she fully strapped and supported? have you tried putting blankets under her moses basket mattress to raise it? Obviously make sure she is feet to foot so she doesnt slip down! Hope she sleeps better and feels better soon!

I was getting a bit worried i was in for a long night, George fell asleep downstairs by time I got him upstairs he was awake and not keen on going to bed idea pmsl So I topped up his night feed to settle him back to sleep, but nope he wanted to play and talk to mummy lol so decided id put him in his bed, see if he settles like he did the other night by himself, and wow he just started farting like a trooper, gave off this smile and look of relief then closed his eyes lol he seems to be now settling to sleep by himself again yay!!

Aww bless!

I tried raising the moses basket a bit and it was a no-go, the only place she can sleep well at the moment is her rocker. I have considered letting her sleep inthe rocker, but I get so paranoid. here is some pics, do you think it would be OK? just until the snot dies down? Where would I put it? on the floor next to the bed where her moses basket usually is?

Oh yeah my guy still gets his butt wiped, he does try lol but he's not quite got it!

Awww little George is being so good, wonder if he will self settle:thumbup:

Yeah MILs are occupational hazards of being married

Talking of potty training, I have little Anja sat on one watching tv, shes really getting the hang of it now and asks to go. Pull ups dont work for her, she considers them nappies. If told she has to use potty she will put herself on it when needs but I havent risked doing it not naked yet:haha:

Wiggler hun its seriously got to be your call :hugs: You know how secure she is in it. Another alternative is a pram, if it can be raised a little. I know mine is flat but many dont go completely flat, whats yours like?

Awww well done Anja! Sounds like she is getting there! Get some knickers on her, she'll love it and i bet she'll do awesome!

George did settle himself to sleep :) He well away withthe fairies now lol Joshua has always settled himself too, but didnt start until about 5-6 weeks old, my fault Id never tried him in bed awake before then lol

She is totally secure in the bouncer, i'm just mega paranoid, SIDS guidelines are always rammed down our throats and TBH it terrifies me. I thought of the pram, but its either totally flat which is a no-go or really upright, no inbetween :(

I think I'll give the rocker a go, if I end up worrying too much I can always put her in her moses basket :)

I dont know if I'd do a bouncer overnight, more stretches over an hour or so, but its your call, how secure is it for her head?:flower:

Will get some knickers next time at walmart then, scary stuff. They grow up way too fast:cry:

if you worry that much hun you wont sleep a wink watching her, but at least the little lady might get some sleep and feel better for it tomorrow! In her moses basket you both risk being awake all night, so least this way Bethany might get rest xx

I don't care if I don't sleep, but Bethany isn't really a cryer and she was so upset the last few nights :( Its really secure for her head which is fab. I'm going to desnot her before bed then put her down in her moses basket, fingers crossed she will be able to sleep ok in that, if she gets mega upset I'll put her in her rocker until her next feed, then back in the moses basket and repeat if nessecary. She's only going an hour-hour and a half between feeds atm while she is poorly so fingers crossed she will sleep ok in the moses basket, I want some sleep too :haha:

I'd love to say hubby gave me my break- bet the girls settled to sleep right as hubby came home, which he then took credit for :dohh: - unfortunately I spent the next hour or so in and out of the bathroom and in massive pain due to an ulcer attack. all at the end of which he says "there, don't you feel better after having a break?" :growlmad:
luckily they went back to sleeping all night so I at least got rest- and Bethy is watching them this evening so I can go soak in the hot tub (pelvis is killing me today!)

It was 59 degrees and raining today- what happened to my California weather?

MIL lives in town so I don't have to worry about her coming to stay
she's an interesting individual and is just now making an effort to get to know me. not sure how I feel about her yet- other than she's too damn skinny and pretty!
