Mayhem Babies! May 2011 mummies and babies

Aww!!

Off to the doctors, it's time to face up to my
Post birth backdoor issues.... :(

 just changed George on my knee and he pee'd as soon as I moved the old nappy away and he missed my laptop by about 1mm lolololol oops! lesson learnt lol He is so happy today Ive had proper smiles and even some coo's :cloud9:

I just answered the door in my bra  postman was banging away and I was feeding so I answered the door as I was :haha: he offered to sign for my parcel for me  I cant believe the monitors are here already, I only ordered them yesterday afternoon!!

Been a bit rubbish about coming on here recently but want some advice if possible?

After a great start when Megan barely needed any winding and settled down nicely at night she's now VERY windy after a lot of her feeds, despite me trying various ways to wind her. The day feeds aren't so bad but she usually brings up a bit of milk soon after. The nights are much worse - she grunts/groans/makes straining noises, goes red in the face, pulls her legs up and brings up some milk when I try and put her down. She doesn't usually cry but seems VERY uncomfortable and the noises seems to go on through the night. She's a bit better if I have her next to me on her side.
She's also fine if she goes to sleep on my tummy, lying on her front, especially if I'm half sitting up.

Do you think this is some sort of reflux? I think I'm going to ring the HV number if it continues. I'm wondering if I should slightly elevate her moses basket at the head end and sit up with her for longer after a feed. I hate hearing all the noises from her and I'm amazed it doesn't start her off crying, although, so far she's not a big cryer anyway.

Hope you're ok 24. :hugs:

I've had pressure and pain in my bum on and off since I had Sam meow, ouchy!!

Well that was fun?! :haha: Seems I did have a small tear when I had Sam, which is looking sore, so I have some cream for that. I have a fissure too, which I have some cream for also. She didn't think I had piles, but I'm not convinced the fissure would cause the pressure pain, but she said to go back if it continues. It wasn't as bad as I thought, but I certainly did't feel as comfortable with my kit off as I did in labour.

Span, Sam can be like that too, and winds badly in the night, and was up for a good couple of hours lasts night just straining and wiggling about. In the end he had two poos and then managed to settle, but still not properly. Maybe ring the HV. :hugs: xx

Couldnt read and run! span William is exactly the same! i've found propping the cot up so hes not sl flat helps, ive put something under the legs of the cot so his head is slightly elivated. Also you could try giving her colic relief before her bottle, it works fab with William, Dentinox or Coleif are the 2 ive used with my 2 boys as both have had windy issues at night xxx

Huge congratulations Charlotte hun, hope everything settles down for you xxx

Span if it is a bit of reflux then keeping her upright (on your chest maybe) for 20 minutes after a feed may help. There are lots of wind refliefs on the market though, Colief is recommended by lots of HVs, although they are all safe. George was always worse at night too although his seems to be getting better now. Im sure your HV would be happy to help and advise hun, just ring if you are worried :hugs:

24 glad the doctor was able to help. Im sure it wasnt the best experience but it'll get you on the mend. Whats a fissure? Sorry you had an unnoticed tear, ouch! Hope the creams work quickly and you feel better soon!

Georges birth certificate has arrived back safe and sound from CB! Im shocked I only posted it maybe a week ago, but I doubt if it was even that long ago lol

A small tear in my bum hole, ouchy!!

Just applied all my creams, so fingers crossed things improve asap!! xx

OMG Ouch! No wonder you have been in so much pain hun :hugs: Damm theres me telling you I had pain and it seemed normal! I bet it wasnt even in the same league, so sorry hun xxx

Hopefully it will be on the mend soon, wish I had stopped being such a chicken and gone weeks ago, but I just had such awful visions of what would happen, and it was nothing like it, whoopsie!! :p xx

Aw poor you 24! Hope it gets better soon. I lost all dignity when my male doctor had to stick his finger up my arse when I was badly constipated. :haha:

Congratulations Charlotte! :flower:

Cheers for the advise guys. I spoke to a HV just now and she said it quite normal for a baby of her age. She said it's usually due to an immature gut struggling to cope with the amount of feeding (and she does feed a lot in the evenings) and gave me some tips, including slightly raising the head end of her moses basket stand. I'm going to try some infacol too.
She sometimes makes some loud sucking/slurping noises when feeding (not all the time) so I wonder if we're always getting the latch right? Might go to a BFing session to check.

Hardly the most dignified illness is it though, least you been and got it seen to now thats the main thing xx

My Sky+ is looking awfully bare lol I spent this week watching loads of stuff I had on it, all I have now is 8 episodes of Fringe and this weeks Injustice lol Oh well, best crack on through Fringe lol its a hard life lol

This was my last bit of dignity!! :p Oh well, only saving grace was it was a lady doctor, but its doesn't mean much right now.

My sky is very bare too, best get into some new programmes. :D xx

Glad your HV was helpful Span hun.

Cant believe George is napping in his Moses basket for the 2nd day :) but he also having lots more awake and happy time today which is nice lol He seems to be enjoying hand rhymes :cloud9:

Sam is sleeping on our bed after being awake all morning chatting to himself on the sofa, another twin day new. :D xx

Awwww glad he is having a settled day for you hun. is his eye and rash still improving? Hope so!

ouch 24! that sounds SO sore!! i hope it settles for you soon!

We are doing well thanks ttc, trying to get into some sort of routine is a nightmare but we will get there! didn't quite realise how difficult a 2 year old and a newborn would be!

Williams been kipping in his moses basket all morning! hes so much more settled today. I stopped breast feeding after so many issues about 4 days ago and the poor little man caught a cold :( how guilty did i feel? but he seems to be on the mend today :)

His eye is looking so much better, and even more open today, it has changed his whole face now that they are both the same. :D The rash is pretty much gone now, just a few spots left. :D How is George's? xx
