Mayhem Babies! May 2011 mummies and babies

We read The Hungry Catepillar today and when he turned into a butterfly I sprung George into the air and bounced him around like a butterfly - wont do that again for a while think mummy got carried away he didnt find it as amusing lol

Has George got much control over his arms yet? The last few days Sam has started moving them like a robot instead of just flailing them around and is starting to try and reach - Is George being his twin? :p xx

Id say he has more control of them, but he still isnt pushing himself up on his arms, or holding toys etc but will hold my hand/finger tight and also my clothes or OHs finger/clothes but no one elses, not even Joshuas.

Sounds like they are heading in the same direction as always. :D Sam will hold and shake toys if you put them in his hands now, although he doesnt know they are there, he just has them there as he carries on as normal, if that makes sense. xx

And he likes to hold and muslin and rub it over his face too. :D xx

I put a rattle in Georges hand he will hold it for a while in his right hand and as you say carry on as normal, but in his left hand he drops it instantly, cant hold it at all.

George hates stuff on his face lol When i change him he holds his breathe when I lift clothes over his head :dohh: he does try to take things to his mouth though, anything in his hand goes to his mouth lol (Joshua has now been warned NO toys to be left lying around lol)

Is Sam showing signs of rolling yet? George makes absolutely no effort to roll at all, but I dont know when they normally start trying. I feel like a totally new mum again lol

Sam loves chewing, and again likes Muslins to chew and bibs!!

Sam half rolls, but then gets stuck in his side but only started doing that today....

Sam is definately favouring hisrigjt hand too xx

so here is the progression over the last 15 minutes... from start to finish, but now hes crying again.. amazing.. i put him in this outfit that says 'ruff day' since he's having one haha

Only time Ive seen George attempt a roll is when I blasted him with the hair dryer (on cool air lol) and he almost blew over  He does like shuffling around on his back lol he can go in circles and backwards, also been known to move forwards during tummytime. He has really strong legs and draws them up then pushes really hard lol

Oh that really doesnt look like a nice cry :( maybe you're right about him needing to poop, maybe he has a little tummy ache. Have you tried laying him to settle on his side? (I know this isnt rule book - but its not over night and you'll be able to keep an eye on him) - very appropriate outfit though lol xxx

Ha! every morning i let him sleep on his side or tummy, he loves it and sleeps the best when hes like that, i am right next to him watching tv so its supervised. he's now in the sleep state, will last anther few minutes haha, im enjoying the silence till he goes into the scream state. His pooping has been weird lately he goes one day of full explosions, then the next day, he doesn't poop just farts a lot, then day after explosions again.. the poop is normal consistency and color, i just hink thats his new poop schedule, its been going on since last thursday. This morning he barely pooped, just a little, but its his 'off' day so idk.

Good thing mommy is going to pour herself some wine in 20 minutes to get some pleasure out of my day myself and relax a bit hahaha.. happy mommy=happy baby

(:shhh: George also loves sleeping on his side and tummy lol) Apparently BF babies have these weird poopy stages because there is so little waste in the BM, so Im told lol but George gets really ratty and unsettled (although not usualy in any apparent pain) if he goes more than 24 hours, and it stinks if he goes over 24 hours lol

Aww, poor Sebastian. :( He has grown lots hopeful. xx

imagine our parents raised us and we slept on our tummy and side and we didn't die.. i think there are wayyyyyy too many guidelines these days. I just follow what he likes/dislikes and my instinct.

Ive got photos of Joshua sleeping, all on his tummy - and I was a totally by the book mummy then, so 8 years it must have been guidelines to sleep them on their tummy lol It changes so often!

My first 3 all slept on their tummies I do remember it used to be the guideline lol.

Hopeful, could be tummyache or growth spurt, have you tried walking him? That outfit is adorable! I think I understand what you mean, so much changes when you become a mom, its a huge adjustment:hugs:

We're back, Anja has a script for zantac and a referral for an endoscopy. Eilidh was 8lb 9oz, she lost an oz :( On their scale she has gained a lb overall so its a possibility the nicu nurses scale has been out, waiting for a call to see what we're to do (was nurse practitioner so she's getting ahold of the doc) she's 21 1/2in though:thumbup: Also they commented on how floppy she is so interesting to see how physio goes.

Aww no mummy she's lost :( Can't they weigh her on the same scales each wk?

I understand what u mean Hopeful u kind of loose ur identity when u have a baby it's still very important to me to get dressed up & go out every now & then does me the world of good x

Thanks wud:hugs: Yeah the nurse had been weighing her on the same scales, but they wanted to see her in the office this week, I guess the scales cant be out so much though :(

You may be surprised mummy hun, will they weigh here on the ones she usually is before making any decisions. Im so sorry it wasnt a great gain :hugs; hope Anjas meds work too hun xxx
