Mayhem Babies! May 2011 mummies and babies

Big hugs to you and the boys new :hugs:

Dylan attempted to haave a tantrum earlier, is it really mean that I laughed at his voice? The tantrum just didn't have the same impact without the high pitched screaming :haha:

my appetite has dissapeared since we have moved, thats good though, smaller meals and no snacking will help me lose weight :D

I might try and get out with the kids later, if I can get over my stupid fear of the stairs here, they are horrible! There is a really nice path behind the flats, lots of fields close and lots of trees, its so pretty :cloud9: When I do the pictures I'll grab some of the veiw, its so pretty :cloud9:

Hope you enjoy your walk hun :) Cant wait to see photoies!!!

George has lost more weight, and has now lost almost 2lb. The HV wants to come and review him today, she said he should only lose a few ounces when ill. On my scales he was under 18lbs, with his clothes and nappy on! Im not sure if their scales make him lighter or heavier I forget, but he was up to almost 20lb so he definitely lost too much :(

I also just filled in George's registration forms for nursery, thats me almost organised :( I cant believe I go back to work in 15 days

Does any of you ladies have a great soup recipe? I want to make something a little different than tomato or veg soup, but I have very simple taste buds so nothing fussy. I thought something wth lentils maybe as that wuld be good for the boys, but its for my parents too so needs to be nice and tastey.... send in your ideas ha ha

Noooo new dont go back to work!:hugs:

Erm soup, I usualy just chop a load of veggies, boil em up add stock and bit of gravy and let it stew:thumbup:

I am the soup queen :winkwink: problem is, I wing it and never write it down... so these are all loose recipes, and for future reference TT means to taste

Lentils soup-

Start your lentils on the stove- 1 to 2 1/2 ratio (Ie: 2 cup lentils, 5 cups water-)

small dice onion, celery and carrot (called Mirepoix when all three together) Add to lentils

add bullion cubes , one or two depending on how much soup you got going. (Remove George's portion before this step and continue to cook it in a smaller pot)

Add garlic powder, oregano and sage TT

Once the beans are cooked, if you need more liquid add a can (or two) of chicken stock.

Salt TT

VARIATIONS- Leave out the sage and oregano and add curry powder and ginger

Once done cooking add a grain to it (Quinoa, or barley) or couscous (if you do this step be sure to ad more liquid, as the grain soaks up a lot)

Add diced chicken to any variation

Feeling pregnant mummy? :hugs:

Ahhh work return, lalalalala. xx

Potato corn chowder (Super easy crowd pleaser!)
Start your water (A few cups? enough to cover potatoes generously, but not be TONS of water with little potato bits floating in it)
med dice 3 large potatoes add to water
med dice 1 onion add to water
Add one bullion cube
Cook till potatoes start to "fall apart" when you stir.
Add 2 cans creamed corn
Add 1 can evaporated milk (you may substitute cream or milk- milk will make it slightly watery.)
add 1/4 cup butter.
salt pepper and garlic TT

SOOOOOOOOOOO gla I'm not looking at going back to work. I think leaving them might kill me. big  for those of you going back!

Mummy- Up puking all night??????????? Blood test.

My fever finally broke around 3 AM, but hubby is now sick- I got up this morning to him pissing and moaning and shivering- going on and on about his high fever and head ache and joint pain- everything I had going on last night (But still had to take care of the girls after he got home because "Something" in his back "Did something". Could you be more vague? :growlmad: ) So I brought him juice and medicine and another blanket, etc. Then took his temp. Any guesses??? 100.2- (37.88) :dohh: You do know chills don't set in til over 102 (38.88), right dude??? :haha: Men. :growlmad:He, of course, is back in bed.

Nope.

Rolling?
No he isnt interested
Awwwww he is good at sitting bless him
oh yes he can do that, so long as he doesnt have to do anything

which ingredients have you not heard of?

George will most likely start perking up, eat loads of Christmas dinner, and be right back on track for being a little pork chop! :haha:

:dohh: I forgot now, Bullivard or something :haha: and something else lol

He had a malteaser  lol He enjoyed it lolol

 Bullion? That's a stock cube to you! :haha: What else, I might know the name :winkwink:
(I never even considered the translation barrier in cooking!)

:dohh: oh!!! lol I am so thick lol - I can use baby stock then so George can have same soup lol ... okies hang on I'll find the other thing I didnt know lol

I made the perfect laxative...I mean, soup. It's Beef and Lentil Vegetable Soup. It's V8 (Vegetable Juice), Ground Beef, Lentils, Celery, Carrots, Pepper, Beef Bouillon, and Worchestershire Sauce.

Yummy when it goes in...not so yummy in the diaper.

Asda has creamed corn- https://groceries.asda.com/asda-est...me=Products&headerVersion=v1&_requestid=43682
Sainsburies (sp?) carry creamed corn- or you can make your own- it is just regular canned corn, undrained, blended in the blender until a creamy texture

Enchilada sauce is harder... looks like Asda has it
