Mayhem Babies! May 2011 mummies and babies

dont worry, I know its not a dig, this system is fucked up.

The sad thing is, OH workes his bones off for minimum wage, he is trained in a lot of things for his work, he should earn more but he doesn't :(

Yer Wiggler we'd never be happy hey.... Just because your oh earns minimum wage doesn't mean he doesn't work as hard as anybody else?
I'm gonna stop moaning now & just be grateful me & dh have a job as he was made redundent in 2010 & that was a scarey time for us luckily it turned out to be for the best in the end :)

 thats says im not entitled to wtc or ctc i must have inputted something wrong somewhere lol will do it again when more awake!

Also says I should be entitled to DLA for Joshua, his consultant keeps telling me this, I really ought to look into it!

Before he was laid off, we lived off about $38,000 a year. We wouldn't survive if we had to pay a mortgage or rent. Average income is $70,000 a year, I think. He brought home anywhere between $2400 and $2800 a month, plus my $500 in child benefits. Now, once his employment insurance comes in, we'll live off my child benefits and Zoe's disability, which is $1422 a month, plus his EI, which will be approximately $1600 a month.

i tried that calculator and its spot on at mo. Say we should get some rent reduced but not according to our council :haha: also anyone know when tax renewals is? oh has a estimated income of £15k a year but he really gets about £13k and the end of year p60 will say that amount when it comes april time. Tax credits have the £15k at the mo for next year as we updated when he switched jobs in july.

:haha: new, you should be entitled to something! are you inputting your wage, or SMP?

Wud - I love OHs job, he had his own business and it was failing and when I got preggers he quit it for a normal job for a steady income,, that didnt happen til Dylan was 6 months old (he raang the whole yellow pages for his proffesion every week poor guy) - Being made redundant must have been so scary for you guys :hugs: I'm glad you go through it ok

My plan is to see what jobs are needed a lot in the local area and pick one that suits me most then study it in college/uni. I know I will never have my dream job, but as long as my kiddies see me and OH working an know that money comes from earning it then I'm happy. even if it means flipping burgers for a living.

we applied for help a year or so ago when things were REALLY tight and were told we qualified due to income level, but hubby worked too many hours to get anything, you have to work 20 hours or less a week to get benefits here- so,. because my husban works his a$$ off to provide for his family and we need a little bit of help to make it, we don't qualify- but if someone sits on their duff they can??? The system is broken everywhere

we are applying for help with insurance this month- Bethy has some issues needing taken care of that are not covered currently- and we get WIC (Women Infants Children) help with formula, because GOOD GOD, almost $500 a month!
But I have no issues with getting assistance if it means staying home with my beans- of course, if I went to work we'd be paying around $2,200 a month in child care  which is about what I could expect to earn a month if working- so why would I pay for someone else to raise my babies???

thanks so should have the p60 by then with the right income so we should be paid the right amount from the start.

I dunno i do believe everything happens for a reason & if he didn't loose that job (which was a dead end one tbh) he wouldn't have this one which is better pay & prospects?

renewal is between may-july (last day is 31st july), your pack will come before your P60 does, so as soon as you have the P60 you can do it, thats what i do or i forget :dohh:

Bloody hell Heyy, childcare is pricey where you are :(

Its rediculous, people have babies and pay the price, but inflation is so steep that if there were no benefits most poeple wouldn't be able to afford their babies.

Benefits are a lifeline for those that need them, for those that sit on their ass refusing jobs and popping out kids for cash, then they need a reality check and their money revoked. unfortunately the system will never be perfect :(

Yep Hey i agree that's where i think i'm lucky i get the best of both worlds get to have my babies all day & still bring home money as i don't have to pay childcare as it's nights?
But it also comes at a price of me being groggy & feeling i can't give my babies the best of me as i'm so tired? But i try my best that's all we can do :)
We all have different situations & have to do the best with them x

Thats how it worked for us wud when hubby was laid off a year ago. We had to move state but financially it was a much better prospect so it works out. Must've been scary for you too:hugs:

Heyy, childcare is expensive huh. Thats one of the reasons I dont work either. Hope you get some assistance hun

Im going to make OHs business take off, make him a millionaire then he can keep me

Anyways my lovelies, I'm off to bed, sleep well to all mummas and babies x x x

I think I'd have nightmares if I knew the actual cost of childcare:haha:

Night wiggler:hugs:

Lol new, you can be a lady who lunches:haha:

OH is defo liking the idea of ntnp #2 :happydance: he actually said he'd like another earlier and he wouldnt mind if we got pregnant soon :happydance:
