McDonalds milkshake

I agree, I can't see any reason why not to have them. Which is great, because cream egg McFlurrys will be out soon and I won't be able to resist them!

I don't have them anyway - I'm vegetarian and I remember reading somewhere (ages ago) that they have chicken fat in them! Yuk :(

oooooooh this is defo not true!!

i'm a very strict lifelong vege and i can tell you that the milkshakes are approved by the vegetarian society so they're safe :)

i did know that in the strawberry milkshakes they used cochineal (a red colouring from insects) but i just googled that to show you and apparently, they've even replaced that with a vege alternative!

crap food with little nutritional value, but definitely suitable for vegetarians, and in my opinion, safe in pregnancy :)

Wow! I'm amazed - thanks for that. It's about 10 years since I've had one, purely for that reason. Ha ha.

I had the new wispa mcfluffy on Sat, it was sooo nice with the chocolate sauce

Hi Ladies, I would just like to say that I will not be risking it this time, the last pregnancies I had a very laid back attitude, but sadly miscarried at 13 weeks, a few days after eating brocolli and stilton soup. Now I dont think that was the cause, as I lost symptoms at 9 weeks and it usually takes a few weeks for the hormones to drop so the mc can start ......... but, it will always be in the back of mind if it had anything to do with the stilton.

So this time I will be avoiding everything thats recommended of what not to eat etc. just to be on the safe side and also for my conscience should anything happen.

apparently, cochineal is used in smarties! gross!

Is it the differences in countries?? is the US guidelines different than the UK ones?? i have NO idea.. but now they have the shamrock shakes out for st patties day... and im gonna go sit in line tonight for one.. hahahah!!!!

oh i love maccy d's milkshakes

we were told no not that ive ever had one any way but its due to the ice cream that they have in them same with mc flurrys!

I remember asking exactly the same question when i was pregnant with dd and everyone told me they were fine. I think i had one most days during the summer as i only lived down the road from a Maccy D's and dd was fine!! xx

I just remember in a previous pregnancy being told no to Mr Whippy type ice cream, and i considered mc flurrys and milkshakes under this thing, so have always avoided this type of thing in pregnancy.
Having said all that i am sure things are safe now, what with the cleaning and pasturising things, but because i was told it was not safe ages ago it has kind of stuck!
I mix my ice cream up at home, and it satisfies the need for something like a flurry!

I am one of those people that worry about everything, I had a ham salad sandwich the other day in a cafe and worried that the salad had not been washed properly!!!
