Mcdonalds milkshakes???

I dunno about McD milkshakes, havent had one in years.... but I've got a thing about making my own atm *rubs tummy*

I use that new chocolate carte doir (sp?) and their vanilla ice cream - it works really well as it's really smooth and soft anyway. Damn if I wasn't so cold at the moment, I'd have one!

OMG......MMMMMMMMMM......I'm fixing to sweet talk OH into making me a big thick chocolate shake right now......I'm so glad I read this thread.:happydance:

oh also I dont normally like milkshakes but unfortunately today I was really craving a mcdonalds one!! I had one but know you're not supposed to incase they dont clean the pipes well enough. i felt guilty!

I had a ridiculous craving for a chocolate one yesterday and DH brought me one thank goodness! But now I am worried....why aren't they supposedly safe? And what's this now I hear about soft serve not being safe?! I am going to be big and pregnant this summer and I was excited about my sundaes from Dairy Queen. What is the deal with soft serve? Is it safe or not? I may cry....hormones!

I think its whether they clean the pipes often enough or not! Its a dodgy one!

This thread is 3 years old but what the hell...I am so sick of "you can't eat this you cant eat that".

I will eat ice cream, mcdonalds, and all that all day long. They put risks with EVERYTHING. Should I not live in my house because someone might walk in with bacteria on their feet and I might not clean the floor well enough? :dohh: I need to be isolated NOW!

Pretty soon pregnant women aren't going to be able to eat anything

I had a KFC milkybar krushum the other day -oops!

Haha, at the end of the day- the risk is there ONLY if you become ill after eating it. You're not going to cause any harm if the milkshake does not affect you.

can't help but read the ingredients and think yuck! i personally would never trust any mcdonalds food considering their history. who needs all that extra crap?

nothing wrong with making a nice creamy shake yourself with 100% less additives.

And there is nothing wrong with having it every now and then if it's what you want. McDonalds has been around forever and still extremely popular these days. If it was THAT bad, it would be banned.
MY point is, eat it if you want it.

I made my own lush nana milkshake the otherday- boy that was good

i'm not passing any judgement on anyone. pregnant woman are gonna eat what they crave! it's everyone's own personal choice how and what they eat during pregnancy.

however, i think it's pretty flawed logic to pretend that just because one of the largest corporations in the world hasn't been banned it means it's not that bad.

all you have to do is look at one of the million of lawsuits against them to clearly see they are not always safe. not trying to be rude, just honest. X x

I know :D I am not trying to be rude either. It's called constructive feedback right?

Thanks for the information, I guess I have never looked into McDonalds and have never looked into their lawsuits. Maybe I need to better inform myself. Honestly, I don't check ANY place before I eat there.

I think they are just fine to eat! However, I have a better suggestion. My husband and I went to dairy queen last night as I was craving some icecream. You have to try the Oreo brownie earthquake, but add peanut butter sauce to it. To die for! :)

OMGGG why bnb!? Every time. I want a milkshake terribly now!! and I'm stuck at work for 2 hrs

but I agree with ya jemma, I'm SOOOOO sick of Can't have this, can't eat that. grrr  YES YES I understand it's for the best for our babies and I am totally for it but omgosh soon we won't be able to eat ANYTHING!!! My dr has obviously given me a list of things I can and can't have but he has also said if I can't stomach anything else then eat what I can so I'm at least getting SOMETHING in my tummy for baby :)

I think some people are just more cautious/nervous than others by nature! Nothin wrong w/ that! But really...I'd say eat the milkshake if you want it. Just not three times/day. :)

honestly, in some ways ignorance is bliss. once you start researching about the food industry (particularly if you're in america) you'll scare yourself silly! sometimes i wish i hadn't learned so much about it.
haha, enjoy those shakes for me!

lol not sure if I want to  After today, I am going to start better educating myself though. It's been a rollercoaster for me

As long as they used pasteurized milk products it's fine. I can't tell you how much soft serve ice cream I had from Dairy Queen and Wendy's throughout my pregnancy....it was a lot

 I have just told my DH that he has to go get me some of this now!

Wouldn't all mainstream places use pasteurized milk products?
