I have a friend who had meningitis as a baby too and she made a perfect full recovery You've done brilliantly getting him in as fast as you did - I'm sure he'll be home very soon.

My LO was ill at about 10 weeks old and was treated with antibiotics for suspected meningitis! He also had to have countless blood tests and 4 lumber punctures! It's so hard when there is nothing u can do for them! Hope he makes a speedy recovery! Sending hugs to u and ur little man! xx

Thank you everyone, jack seems good today, he is eating and drinking and awake quite a bit...just had another lot of bloods done for infection markers which were high yesterday when the results came back. Should be an hour or so then new results should be back.
They will probably be stopping his current treatment at 2pm after his last dose then the cultures should be back and the cycle begins again...new mess etc

We've been moved to another room though so were comfy and he is in the best place

They think it is bacterial just because of his symptoms but because the doctor acted as quickly as he did and we got him up here within minutes they managed to attack the infection before it could do any lasting damage.

Feels like I'm waiting to be hung waiting for these bloody results though xxx
