Meningitis

Praying for little Jack that he continues to improve and is home with you where he belongs really soon.

Sending huge hugs, I can only imagine what you're going through right now.

Thank god for good Dr's!!

So pleased to hear little Jack's improving, hopefully he's gonna be home ASAP :hugs:

My friends LO had the worst strain of meningitis at 2 months old. He was very very poorly, had to have antibiotics, lumber punctures the lot!

His was caught early too and he is now 14 months old and bright as a button. He still has check ups now!

I hope your LO is ok, my little man is called jack too and this really struck a nerve with me knowing what my friend went through.

Huge hugs and best wishes to you all :hugs:

Just wanted to send hugs, and hope that your LO gets better as soon as possible :hugs:

Massive :hugs: to you and your LO. I hope he's feeling better soon!!

My stepson and my best friend's baby boy both had meningitis very young, less than 2 months old. And they're both absolutely fine now!

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. My thoughts are with your family and your little one. Let's hope he gets better soon. :hugs:

Hope there is good news soon
Get better soon little guy.. were all rooting for you x

Hiya, sorry if not been on here to reply!this past week or so has been hell :( jack is a lot better :)

His blood cultures came back with a strain of bacterial meningitis which, thanks to the dr in the walk in centre, was spotted almost as soon as he saw the spots appearing. He ended up giving a high dose of penicillin into his leg.
If it wasn't for him he could have lost limbs or worse....:nope:

He was kept in for 48 hours, not allowed out of his room...he had IV antibiotics 4 times a day and 3 different once each time :( he had 4 lots of bloods done while he was in there too. He needed a bit of assistance breathing on the first night but he didn't need it for long thank god.

Honestly, we were so lucky. I'm so thankful to that doctor!
We only took him in for a quick check over...

Anyway, he came home n the Monday and 2 days after that he had more blood results back...he needed an oral course of antibiotics which he finished yesterday and today we've been back for yet more bloods done!
He needed his blood count doing again and to check his blood was clotting properly as it wasn't before.

It's all a bit of a blur really

Thank you so much to everyone for comments and posts on here, I'm really gratefull to you all :hugs: xxx

So glad to hear he's ok now! I can't begin to imagine how frightening the whole experience must have been for you.
