I've had 3 IVF cycles since November (unsuccessful but hopeful still!) As I'm 45 my odds are lower of course and so some clinics are looking only for one good egg. Since I ovulate regularly and have good hormone levels (though high FSH at 16) Two of my cycles were natural IVF and one was a mini-IVf I . In the first cycle I took clomid from day 3 on then a trigger spray I think on Day 12. that cycle I produced only two eggs and I did a fresh transfer and froze one embryo.
The next two cycles were natural since I respond so little to clomid. The timing is so key and really dependent on the the three day blood test/ultrasounds and also an ultrasound/blood test a week later. Both natural cycles went very well and the doc retrieved one top grade "perfect" egg each time but no luck!
I really like having a natural cycle because the Clomid gave me headaches like a clamp around my head. The timing is the trickiest part and probbaly why clinics haven't taken up natural IVF. You got to get the ultrasound and the blood test just right. Again with me i think it went really well but I just didn't get pregnant. I will give it a try one or two more times and then re-evaluate. I like how you can do cycles back to back on mini or natural IVF and how it does affect your lining poorly and it seems to keep high egg quality.
Good luck!
