Hey everyone,
Hopefully this is posted in the right area. I haven't been on the forum in quite some time.
After much consideration my husband and I decided it was best if I go on the Mirena. I was recently diagnosed with severe iron deficiency anemia, and it was suggested by my GP as extra help to the iron supplements. Basically to prevent further blood loss from heavy periods. The Mirena was placed March 8, 2016. DH and I had sex for the first time after placement on March 27th. I had my next period on March 29th.
I had an ultrasound on March 30th to confirm placement of the IUD, as it is standard procedure here in Canada. I received a call from my GP a few days later, she wanted to discuss my ultrasound.
The ultrasound showed a large cyst on my right ovary that she is sending me to a specialist to rule out cancer. The cyst is 5.3cm x 4.1 cm in size. She said anything smaller than 3cm x 3cm she wouldn't worry about.
Today while on the toilet, I wiped and it appeared as though I had passed a large piece of tissue. It was skin Colour with a bit of dark red. I'm just wondering if this could be related to my Mirena, or if it is something more concerning that I should be calling the Dr about tomorrow morning. Could it be the cyst? I do have a photo, but without knowing if this is the right area to post, i will hold off for now.
