A week and a day later, I'm finally able to sit and write this thing out!

It's been beyond hectic, but so very worth every crazy minute.

Oct 14th (37+5) I went to the dr for my last appointment before my scheduled c-section set for Oct 21st. Doc said baby was doing great, but my fluid was a little low. Of course he gave me the "Don't worry about it" line, but I was paranoid from that moment on..thinking she was in danger. On Oct 15th, I had convinced myself that I didn't feel her moving as much as before, so I called the doc again and told him that. He sent me to Labor & Delivery for observation. My bp had been a little high previously, so they needed to check that as well.

They hooked me up to the monitors and I swear they have some magic powers or something...because as soon as I was relaxed, listening to that beautiful heartbeat on the machine, my contractions began. They weren't very painful, but they were crampy braxton hicks like I'd been getting. They were regular and within the 20 minute section of the monitor strip, the nurse determined I was in early labor. Doc decided to check me as a deciding factor and my cervix was soft..he didnt say if I was actually dilated now that I think about it. Anyway, he said I wasn't leaving the hospital without a baby!!!! I wasn't ready tho...it was going waaay too fast. I just wanted to be monitored lol.

They gave hubby some scrubs to put on and whisked me off to do the spinal. I was worried about that because I'm a wimp and I have scoliosis, but it was no problem..wasn't painful at all really except the initial shot to numb the area. The next part wasn't so nice. The feeling of being numb...I hated. It was only my legs tho that bugged me..even tho I couldn't feel them at all, I kept thinking I did..and I kept feeling like I needed to move them, like with RLS only worse...but couldn't, of course. Ahhh it was weird and I hated it.

Soon after I was settled in, they let hubby in. He was scared to death but didn't have a lot of time to truly freak out like he would have if we went ahead with the scheduled date lol. He avoided the surgical area at all costs and huddled down close to my face the whole time. We kept saying is this really happening??? It was sooo surreal. And so fast.

Before we knew it..we heard a tiny cry..and suctioning..and then a bigger cry! We both cried right along with her. They held her up for our first glance and it was instant love. My heart could've just burst at that moment!!!

She is perfect and I'm the happiest mommy on earth.

World, meet Abbey Rose :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

Recovery wasn't TOO bad. The worst part was the night after..when the numbness wore off and the morphine didn't take all the pain away. It was worth every second though. Day 2 was better...I was up and walking..had a shower and got to go home on Day 3 with my little bundle.

Sorry for the long story!

Here's some pics ...I know thats what everyone looks for in these things :haha:
