Hi everyone

Stressing thread here- sorry!

I had my booking in appointment at my health centre at 10 weeks (lots of blood taken) and my 12 week scan on Wednesday last week. I also had one vial of blood taken at my 12 week scan last week.

Last night when I was driving I had a missed call on my mobile, no message left. I thought it was our painter and decorator who I was waiting to hear from. I got into work today and tried to call the number back but it says "this number doesn't accept incoming calls". I then googled the number and it appears to suggest that it's NHS/the hospital.

I'm now freaking out that something is up with my blood tests or the nuchal test.
We have a home phone and they have the number but we hardly ever use it. I'm stuck at work and stressing that they have left a message on my house phone telling me something awful.

I'm trying to tell myself that it could be nothing to stress about but it's so hard.
Anyone know who I should call/what I should do?

Could you call the hospital from your mobile at work? There will be a number available online. Xx

i would google the number andring your hospital and be asked to get through the maternity dep. xxxxxxxxxxxx

try not to worry! i had a call from them - which i missed! and when i rang they had to tell me that they would have to re do one of my blood test (to find out which blood group i was) cant remb why, but point being it wasnt anything serious!! i was expecting the worse news possible!! so try not to worry hun! just see if you can get hold of someone now?

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I've called and left a message for my midwife telling her what happened and asking her to give me a ring.

I'm based near Edinburgh and had two options for hospitals- one in Livingston and the Western General in Edinburgh. I chose Livingston and had my scan there but the number is suggesting the Western General. Wouldn't know which one to call.
If I remember correctly the midwife might be based at Western General.

Seems like you've done what you can. Last time the hospital rang me it was to say they'd lost a part of my notes. Fortunately it was still in the file and she was being blind bless her. It'll be okay. Xxx

ah got it! well at least u have left a VM for her to call you!!! i am sure it wont be anything to worry about hun! but i know its hard not to worry!

i hope she calls you back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:hugs:

I know exactly how u feel! I took blood and a week later they called I missed the call they left no message...didnt call me back I figured ok I guess if it was serious they would have left a message or called back. Fast forward 4 days my bell rings and its the mailman with a CERTIFIED letter I had to sign for from the hospital! I was shaking so bad thinking this must be bad to do all that...turns out they had to get some blood work because they forgot to take it!!! I have 3 numbers they could have called! Point is that these people dont think before they do things sometimes...im sure u are fine :flower:

Thanks for all your replies!

Well the midwife just called me back to say she can't see any reason why anyone would have called me last night and said it wasn't her. Co-incidentally she said that she received my blood tests back today and they are all fine, nothing to worry about at all. Phew!

She said that it must be a wrong number or a mistake. However, when I got off the phone I checked and the number she called me from today was the EXACT same number that called last night.

Odd odd odd but who cares- my results are normal!:happydance:

If it was urgent they would have called you and either left a message or called again - if you could remember the access code you can usually check your answer phone at home from dialling in - is it worth trying to google your instruction manual up? Since hardly anyone resets the code to listen to your messages anyway.

Nearly exactly the same thing happened to me! I had my bloods taken for downs screening and the midwife said I would hear within a couple of days if anything was wrong. Well I had a missed call from a no number the next afternoon and an hour after that a voice message from a MW saying they needed to talk to me about my blood screening risk results. I was so, so worried. When I called back the MW said it was just that they had forgotten to write down my weight and needed it to factor risk! Relief!
