MMC and cytotec

Hi ladies
It's a long time since I have posted on Baby and Bump. I was a regular poster when TTC my first, with 18 months of trying and 4 consecutive early losses. DS is now 5 years and I had DD 14.5 months after him (don't assume you will have the same challenge second time! Even when breastfeeding every 2 hours!!)
Anyway DH and I had unprotected intercourse once at CD 11, had a BFP at CD 24, but u/s at 6+1 showed an empty sac, repeat at 7wk had something there but I started bleeding the following day (yesterday). I saw an OB who examined me and did u/s and confirmed I was miscarrying (after 4 previous I knew that), I was prescribed cytotec and have taken 2 orally and 1 vaginally (200mg) the internal one came out after 4 hours, I have since taken another 2 sublingually but other than cramps I was having anyway nothing is happening. I passed a few big clots yesterday but very little today and the scan showed a lot still to come. My other m/cs were all spontaneous and complete within a short space of time.
Any experience?

I had to have 4 tablets inserted right by my cervix and that was only for retained products. Miscarrying naturally can take weeks unfortunately. But you will get there and then you can get your body back and hopefully try and move on a little. I hope your ok and I am sorry for your loss x

Hey Hun, sorry you find yourself here

I've never taken the pills, only natural or d&c, but my natural miscarriages around 8w have taken about a week of heavy bleeding to complete, with around 3 days of cramps clots and tissue loss in the middle of that.

Sorry I totally missed these replies, the tablets did nothing so I had a D&C 2 weeks ago. It has taken until yesterday for the bleeding to stop, so 4 weeks of bleeding. My other losses were much simpler so this one has been a shock. Add to that now living in a foreign country where the main languages are not English. I appreciate your replies!

Dan-O nice to see you on here, you were on the boards when I was TTC my first (he is now 5, and has a sister who is 4) Congratulations on your three!

Aww sorry you had to have the d&c hope you are healing ok now. Sounds like it was far from a pleasant experience for you

Yes I have a 5,3 and 1 year old now! All boys! And my MC count is now 10
My lost recent loss was a few weeks ago (my first pregnancy since #3) so we are in a similar place to you right now.

Would be lovely to have our rainbows around the same time again!

Sorry for your recent loss, hope your rainbow comes soon. We are undecided about when to try again, i would prefer in some ways to try again soon, but we are looking to buy a house out here and waiting until we have moved would make more sense.
