moms with older babies breastfeeding

have any of them cut down??
at this stage my older son was nursing once a day at night
my "baby" is still nursing about 4 times a day and he would more if i let him!
how am i ever going to get him to wean?
i prefer to start phasing out when they cut back naturally
but he is just not into it.

Right now I am NTNP but if I do get pg, I wanted to stop nursing as last time I nurse through five months and I was so run down and I have some bad nausea during pregnancy its so hard to have a big baby on me.

Bethan has 3 feeds a day, but also would probably have more if I let her, and we fed on demand until she was about 16 months. I just started to distract her when she wanted boob, and that seemed to work, and now we have morning feed (more sleep in bed!), afternoon feed (makes her easier to get into the cot!) and bedtime feed (makes her dopey enough to get her into the cot!).

But yeah, you could try just distracting him (if you can!)

well glad I am not the only one, your schedule sound a lot like mine, except we have one more afternoon winge feed there.
i do try distracting but hes really forceful, he wants boob!

At 18 months my last dd was nursing 3-4 times a day. She slowly cut down on her own. By 23 months it was 1-2 times so I weaned her a week before she turned 2 and she hardly noticed

My daughter was down to a couple of feeds per day at 22 months when we stopped bf,Owen is over 16 months now and asks quite a lot.I havent been refusing unless its not possible at the time,like walking through the supermarket or something,but I plan too start and use distraction soon as he still has a lot of feeds for his age.
