If you are a single parent and you do not work. The money you have coming in where does it come from i.e child tax credit ect

Im wanting to go to full time college, ive always worked so i dont no where to start and who i get money from if i leave work. I remember about 6 years ago been out of work for a few weeks at that time you just got your social security money i believe thats what it was called, family allowance and your housing c/tax benefits.
I believe its all changed now and i wouldnt no where to start and before i even start thinking of leaving work i really need to no how much money i would have coming in.

You can go to the local jobcentre and claim income support and child tax also you can get child tax from ringin hm revenue and make a claim for your child tax credits. You will also be entitled to housing benefit.

If you go into full time college you also get your child care paid for you.

Its still all family allowance but for some stupid reason they seperated all the payments & departments , prob just to justify jobs within jobs which aint really needed.
I'm not sure if you choose to leave your job to become unemployed how the system works so i dont want to say what you get or dont just incase im wrong.
I dont work & i recieve income supt, child tax & child benefit. I get full rent paid & also my council tax paid.
