Hi Everyone!

I've been stalking these forums for some time now and decided I should join the community!

A little background about me - I am 27 and DH is 28, we are getting married in March (yay!) and are in month 2 of ttc our first baby. I went for a checkup in December last year to make sure I'm fit and healthy to get pregnant and found out I have subclinical hypothyroidism. I started taking medication right away and was advised by my doctor to wait 6 weeks before ttc. Being impatient, I decided we should try anyway since Id started medication (silly, i know!)

First month was unsuccessful, perhaps because id only just started medication when I would have ovulated (and untreated hypothyroidism can affect fertility) or because we drank a little over Christmas (when I would have ovulated). Either way, we were a little disappointed.

Trying again this month and we only managed to bd about 2-3 times in my fertile window due to work commitments etc, so I'm not feeling too hopeful. Although there is always that little bit of belief in a miracle, right!? However, as I've been on medication for about a month now (i know, still a little naughty as its not been 6 weeks yet).

Since we decided to start trying, my cycles have been abit weird. I made note of when they started & finished for about 4 months, and always 26 days. Then 30 days and most recently 24 days. Im on day 21 now, so I guess I'll see in a few days what this month will be like.

Does anyone have experience with cycles getting weird when you start ttc? Maybe its the added stress etc thats messing with them?

So thats me! I'd love to hear from anyone!

xoxo

hi my lovely I have congenital hypothyroidism was diagnosed at 2 weeks old. the only thing I can think of with u only been taking the medication for 4 weeks is that ur hormones are trying to even themselves out. I aint no expert but thyroxine controls ur hormones and metabolism. I take 175mg daily. ur doctor will have asked u to wait the 6 weeks because he will wont to take ur levels with a blood test to make sure u r on the correct dose. if I was u I really wudnt try until u know ur levels are correct and under control.

Thankyou for your response :) In the back of my mind, I know you're right! I'm just super impatient. Will perhaps ease off until I get my next bloodiest (which isn't far away anyway!)

xoxo
