Tattiesmum I was just wondering a couple of things. If a parent dies then is the other parent/partner the next of kin? If the parent doesnt have a partner then how do they determine which child is next of kin, is it automatically the older one (in which case I would be out of the 5 of us even though I have less contact with my mum than my half siblings).
Also if say I work and my sister doesnt and a parent dies is it possible for my sister to claim for some funding towards the funeral as my parents have no savings/estate etc? Or would it be because I work and am the older one I would become liable for costs?
Also on a basic funeral/cremation what term does the payment plan allow to pay over and what sort of minimum payments?
I know its a way off but it really is stressful stuff with so many parents and we cant afford to save for when all of them pop their clogs! We have limited funds as it is and want to enjoy life with our lo(s). Lol.
