well after just talking to "Yearning" a new member of BnB i was asking her about the lap dye test and stuff...well my clinic just call me right afterher post explaining the process to meand my doc i had ask yesterday to ref me so i could go on with the test ( i was expecting to take a 1 month at least...) nope!!!

They just call me and gave me a phone number to call on day 1 of my periods to schedule my test between CD7 and CD12

Yearning ? she told me they will not put me to sleep so may be my test it's just about the dye and see just the tubes ?

she told me it should feel sore a little after it and to have someone to drive me back...

this is going so fast ...i think by the new year i will know if i am ok inside out!!!

Sorry sweetie, I think we have our wires crossed...usually you do have to go to sleep for this procedure...general A... I do hate to disappoint! But either way it's great news, I hope you forgive the mix up xxx.

she told me they will inject ink into my tubes to see if there is any blockage and when i did ask if i will be under she definatly said no ? i hope she was not wrong ...it's ok so i will do what i need to do!!!

I've heard of it too, I don't think you are put to sleep but I hear its uncomfortable so take an ipod or something to put you in a nice relaxed state. Can't wait to hear all the results!!!!

During a Hystersalpinogram they dialte ur cervix with a baloon and inject ink, then take xrays of ur tubes. I to was told to have it cd 7-12 that i would be sore after and to have someone drive me home, thats why i assume thats what it is. XXX

Hysterosalpingogram

A hysterosalpingogram is an X-ray test that examines the inside of the uterus, the fallopian tubes, and surrounding area. It often is done to look for a cause of female infertility.

During a hysterosalpingogram, a special dye (contrast material) is injected through a thin flexible tube, or catheter, that is inserted through the vagina and the cervix into the uterus. Because the uterus and the fallopian tubes are connected, the contrast material then flows into the fallopian tubes. As the contrast material passes through the uterus and fallopian tubes, continuous X-ray pictures are taken.

Hysterosalpingogram pictures can reveal problems in the uterus, such as injuries or abnormal structures that may be preventing a woman from getting pregnant.

I had this done about 8 years ago and I wasn't put under. It was extremely painful for me, but that is probably because I have a condition which makes certain things 'entering me' very painful.

One of the female surgical team told me that she had been trying for 2 years..had a Lap & Dye test and fell on the second month post the op.
She said that the dye acts like a jet wash and sometimes totally clears any obstruction...even something as simple and natural as mucus can hinder conception.

Daisy? how did your goes? where they available to tell you if everything was ok in there for you babe?

It was ok, was a bit icky, similar to a smear and a few short sharp bursts of pain, but they did go quickly. A radiologist did it, and i was fuming cos i was like so no gynae? Anyway he was a lovely and a radiology consultant, and told me there and then it was ok, i saw it on the screen which was cool. After it was sore and my belly bloated for a few days like bad period pains and ov pains. XXX
