Morning after pill

Anyone ever had the morning after pill not work??! Used it with 12 hours of the 'accident' happening....am on day 18 of 32 day cycle....

Don't want to worry you but I took the morning after pill within 12 hours of a drunken accident with oh and it didn't work, don't get me wrong, I couldn't be happier now, but at the time a child wasnt on my plan. It all depends when you dtd. If it was around your ovulation day then you could be pregnant but it's claimed to be very successful if taken in 12 hours. The map can delay your period aswell. I took a pregnancy test 10dpo and it was faintly positive.

Yep. I only used it once, within about 2 hours of sex, and I conceived my son! But if you haven't ovulated yet you are probably good! As the above poster said it isn't so effective if it's O day or the day after.

Thanks! It was a moment of stupidity at exactly the wrong time! It was on day 16 of my cycle which is usually 32-33 days so fairly near ovulation but im hoping a little bit before because then i think the pill can delay ovulation? Just want to make sure we are careful....my lo is 20 months so wanted to wait a bit longer really. When did you take it in your cycle? Xx

According to my period tracker, I wAs due to ovulate on Sunday, we dtd late Saturday night and I took the MAP early Sunday evening. It can help prevent implantation too, so I think I must have ovulated at the right time and implanted really quickly. I had a feeling I was pregnant from the moment I took the pill, hence the early pregnancy test. How would you feel if you were pregnant? I know that I didn't want a child at that exact moment ideally, but as soon as I took the test I was filled with excitement and happiness and I've never been so happy after having my son and I thank god every day I had him. So even though it's maybe not "ideal" it can work out wonderfully. Particularly if you were wanting another lo anyway in the future. X

I took it on day 17 of my cycle and had all the signs of ovulation on that morning, so I am pretty sure it was bang on O day. You've taken it in the appropriate time window so with any luck it will delay your ovulation long enough now that you won't conceive this cycle. Try not to freak out! (I know it's hard!)

Thanks! If something happened we would cope im sure but just wanted to wait a bit longer, but then we should have been more careful!! Thanks for your comments! Hopefully i took it at the right time as i dont think i would ovulate till day 18 or 19 if i have a 33 day cycle xx
