I am 8 weeks and 3 days pregnant, I feel so ill I am not enjoying my pregnancy. How can I get over this sickness???. It is my third baby, the other pregnacies have never been like this. Will it ever get better or could I be carrying twins?

I am 8 weeks as well and can sympathize, as I've been nauseated morning, afternoon, and night for the past two weeks and all I want to do is sleep. Thankfully though I haven't vomited, and since this is my first I have nothing to compare it to...I have found that watermelon helps me tremendously as well as the sparkling lemon flavored water. Hope you get some relief soon and you should be able to find out by now if you are carrying twins..

I started feeling ill around the same time--basically, I was nauseous from weeks 7-10, but never vomited (thank goodness). I mostly just relied on Saltine-type crackers, and for some reason, oranges. I also had a friend recommend lemon drops to suck on, which surprisingly, helped a lot! Good luck--it WILL pass.

I feel for you - I have been suffering all day ms nausea rather than vomitting thankfully) now since Wednesday and I've already had enough!! Not sure how I am going to cope next week when I'm back at work.
I have found that eating actually helps - but I mean constantly like every hour or so as soon as I start feeling a little sick I start eating again even if it is a small amount it seems to stop the full blown sickness.

I am the same, constant nausea all day long and so tired. I have the sea bands which do help a bit, but i'm also constant eating even though i can't think about cooking so its snacking all day long.

I'm trying to make it healthy snacking with lots of fruit, yoghurts etc, but craving crisp sandwiches!!!:winkwink:

mmm crisp sandwiches sounds good - but no crisps in house - have been craving slush puppy but the lemon flavour like you get in Spain.

I'm suffering from Nausea too...mostly at night strangely enough. Worst thing si when I get up for a wee in the middle of the night the nausea strikes and I can't go back to sleep so I am constantly tired

Saw nurse today - she recomended the sea bands so now sporting a nice new look, not sure if they are going to work or not but shall give them a try. She said the gp is unlike to give me any medicine unless I actually start vomitting.

Good luck with the sea bands, Ive heard a lot of positives about them but they didnt work for me : ( Im still trying to find that one remedy that works as the nausea has really picked up this past week for me.

I have found that lemon/citrus really helps my nausea -- Tesco have sour travel sweets (if in Ire/UK) and just found lemon sorbet in Aldi (very common in USA, where I am from). I have upset stomach from around 3 pm to bedtime (not morning!), and in fact, so sick feeling (but no vomit yet) when I lie down into my bed, so have a big plastic bowl next to the bed!

Hi, I tried sea band but nothing seems to help. I cannot wait to get to 12 weeks:sleep:

Well I currently feel - sick - so nope the sea bands are the miracle cure that I was hoping for, having said that I think they might of taken some of the edge of as haven't felt sick every minute of today, probably every 3!!! roll on 12 weeks as I can't keep smiling to people and saying no I'm fine or yeah just have a bit of a bug .... don't think they are going to buy it forever

oh dear, pregnancy symptoms really suck, this time round I am getting absolutely blinding headaches with only a slight touch of nausea every now and again, havent seen MW or GP yet, GP only phoned me which I thought was bizarre but then again I didn't have many symptoms then, just tiredness, still only 5 weeks, 6 days anyway so lots can change. My last pregnancy was 1999/2000 and I knew I was pregnant from the sicky feeling I was getting, I was working full time and it lasted for the full 3 months, absolute nightmare, this time round I don't work, thankfully, but at 39 I am feeling the effects of this pregnancy already, I am hoping for a sucessful pregnancy as I'm overweight and feeling very guilty about letting myself get like this, as you can tell my pregnancy wasn't exactly planned, lol but I really really want this baby.

Thanks for letting me rant! sometimes I think you just need to blow off steam

I have found that peppermint tea helps me out. The catch is... drinking it does nothing for me. Sniffing the peppermint smell in the dry tea bag, on the other hand, does wonders! I'm sure I would look hilarious to anyone walking by my office if they saw me with a peppermint tea bag practically stuck up my nose, so I have resorted to working with my door closed lately. :) A girl's gotta do what a girls gotta do!

I can understand the peppermint tea, I've been eating soft peppermints for weeks now. I'm at 13w 1d and still having bad ms. No vomiting at all, just retching and nausea for weeks. It's made it difficult to eat and forget cooking, don't think I've cooked a thing in 6 weeks! My mum told me a few weeks ago she had ms 6 of the 9 months, hoping I don't take after her but it doesn't look too good right now.

I am drinkiong peppermint tea as well - same doesn't really do anything but I really have gone off tea and coffee so had to swap to something! Sea Bands I think are helping a little - but then again the last 2 mornings my breakfast has decided it didn't want to stay down :(
Getting quite fed up of the whole ms situation now as is hubby as he feels I am a different person at the moment - can't wait for 12 weeks and hopefully a little bit of no ms.
