Hello Ladies ! I am 33, DH is 33, i have 4 children previously (ages -16) and we have been TTC for 18 months. We got an S/A and bloodwork done right off the bat, all normal (we wanted to make sure DH would have no issues) and got down to business. 18 months later and not a single sign of pregnancy my OB agreed the nest step was an HSG. I had assumed there would be nothing wrong and it was just age and what not that was taking awhile for pregnancy. Imagine my shock when i was told both tubes are 100% blocked, proximal, so surgery isnt even a viable option and IF we want to conceive it'll have to be through IVF
This all happened on Friday, and i spent a good portion of the weekend throwing myself a pity party (that involved alcohol and a lot of crying plus venting). However now that ive gotten all my anger and fears off my chest I have accepted the fact and I am anxious to do the IVF. My DH and i finally get to go on a honeymoon in November, so im willing to wait until after that... all the sudden DH isn't on board with IVF. He doesnt seem against it, just really really worried. I suspect he's dealing with the grief in his own way.
I have scheduled us for the consult at the end of July, i think it's important we go and speak to the fertility specialists and gather information. We dont have to make a decision then but we will have the initial appointment over and done with regardless.
