i know each council could be different but wondered if any of you have moved homes whilst claiming housing benefit?

we currently recieve hb were we are but want to move wen our contract is up..

reason being our place is a little small (mainly 2nd bedroom)

i know our current rent is below the max level at the moment and they have told me tht if we find somewere up to £50 per month more benefit will stay same/go up slightly. (we dont recieve full benefit)

what worries me is if we move will they need to close the claim and start over again.. fresh id, fresh wage slips etc etc or do you think they will just need new tenancy agreement and be able to swith it over??

it took near 8 weeks to sort our claim out at first and im worried about doing tht again...

thanks in advance

xx

no hun u just get a change of address form ! and this will be faster, u defo dont start again x u wont need wage slips etc again x

moving is stressfull enough!!

If you are changing councils u will have to start again ! Also they will pay a 4 wk overlap on both properties if u have to give notice x
