My Lo was born via c-section and is 9 weeks now and is still so mucousy, he always sounds congested and is still bringing up mucous, not too often but maybe every few days or so. I've been to my GP who has checked his lungs and prescribed nasal saline drops but they don't really help

I know babies born via section are prone to more mucous but I really thought it would have cleared by now.

Any advice or reassurance going?

I know it took a fair few weeks for my LO to become less mucousy. He always sounded chesty & sounded like he had a bad cold. He was sneezing allsorts out! He wasn't c-section either. My HV said that some babies are more snotty than others.

Hiya
Dint worry mine was mucousy for a good two months and sneezed constantly. We also had a couple of almost choking incidents where he was struggling to bring it up. He was born via forceps after a prolonged second stage and had also swallowed meconium. I know it's terribly worrying but he will be fine. Some take longer to clear up.

Thanks for replies ladies!!

Will be so glad when it clears, it doesn't seem to bother him but it hard to hear him so blocked up, have also had a few choking episodes where he seems to freeze and have difficulty clearing it, so far they've all happened through the day but one of my fears is that it'll happen at night when I'm sleeping

my lo was born by c section and was very congested i got prescribed saline drops for her and they did take a while to work but by the time she was about 3months it had cleared up! dont worry about :D
