Multiple IVF cycles/transfers & no baby

Welcome blackclay! How devastating to have had one BFP followed by 4 BFNs :( Sorry that you lost your baby, I can only hope that June brings you some good luck and you get your miracle.

Beneath, my plan is to get them re-tested... just need to find time to call the doctors and arrange!

Thank you, but it hasn't been a good day. This morning we were amost at our fertiliy clinic (1 hour 30 mins away) when I got the dreaded call. Our embryo didn't survive the thaw and our cycle was canceled . To top it off we still have to pay $2200.

Not sure what we are going to do next. I think I need a bit of a break.

Oh man Blackclayrose, I am so sorry to hear that :( Please take care of yourself, sending big hugs! :hugs:

My plans are on hold as I'm currently waiting for an egg share match after being accepted as an egg donor. When I do get started I'm going to be starting on a higher dose of stims this time. 187.5 of gonal f instead of 112.5. I've also started inofolic and melatonin to hopefully help with egg quality & response. Just booked myself in for acupuncture too. Never used it with IVF before. Basically I'm just getting my body as healthy as possible. Gym 3 times a week and lose 10lbs or so.

Sounds like a great plan! I need to get on the weight loss wagon myself! I have gained way too much weight this year with all these meds. I have own more week of steroids as I am weaning off and then I am starting my diet!!

I have gained SO much weight on all these meds since September. And then my clinic is very strict about not doing anything strenuous after transfer, even long walks are out of the question, so finding it SOO hard to lose the weight. Then because I haven't done anything, and apparently starting up a new fitness regime is not really recommended, I haven't done that. I know it's excuses, but that's where I am. My husband keeps telling me "one battle at a time". Oh, and during the stim phase, I'm so uncomfortable and afraid of ovarian torsion that I do nothing. Do you guys work out during cycles? What do you do? Oh, and combine the fact that the meds (especially progesterone) make me SO incredibly hungry....gah.

I don't workout during cycles, but I like to walk when the weather is nice at least so I feel like I am doing something!

Blackclay, sending you the biggest hugs. I am so sorry that your cycle was cancelled. Take some time to heal sweetie :(

Amanda, I worked out until maybe half way through stims and then I thought it was best to call it a day. Walking is good though and that's not off limits.

Happy Friday ladies! Ovulation is here for me which means our first natural cycle of TTC since making the decision to have a break from IVF.

x

I work out through DR, I carry on as normal. During stims I don't because of risk of ovarian torsion, I just walk and swim. I usually do body pump (weight lifting) a lot but stop. During FET I carried on till transfer with everything. It makes me feel better exercising.

I put on about a stone I keep losing half of it then putting it back on. I want to lose it all again this time and a bit more. Ideally before we cycle so I have a few months.

You can do it!!! I hope to lose a few pounds while waiting for next steps.

Thanks beneath. I lost 5st (about 60/70lbs) in 7 months last year to do IVF again. So hopefully I can do a piddly 10lbs or so in the few months I have x

This is what happened to me in April. I found it terribly hard. I'm here if you need to talk as it's an awful thing to go through. Sending you a hug xxx

I hope you ladies enjoy your weekend! Anyone have anything fun planned?

Hi beneath! I'm know I'm not in this boat anymore but I wanted to give all you ladies encouragement and applaud for your efforts. I know how hard and stressful this all is!
But it does work! It took us 3 ivf cycles and 6 transfers; 2
Miscarriages/ d&c and 2 chemicals to finally get preggo with ds1. He was sooo worth all the effort even though we almost gave up and at the time it was hard and stressful.
This baby I'm preggo with took 2 full cycles and 5 total transfers and finally a second opinion at a different clinic is what we needed to achieve success. We had 2 mc and 2 cp also with my old re before switching.
So ladies all your efforts will be worth it!! I believe in the end after all the tries and heartache, etc you end up with the baby you should have always had!! I look back now and think wow if all those other cycles worked, if no mcs then I would never know my son today and I love him so much and could never imagine life without him!!

If you've gone through multiple cycles with a clinic and tried several things I encourage a clinic switch. I was reluctant to and I felt like I wasted so much money after seeing a new re and having success on the very first try with them. My old re was basically like a new clinic won't matter but it did!! Don't be afraid to go somewhere else for another opinion. Sometimes it just takes another set of eyes. And some doctors are just better than others.

You'll all get there and I'm living proof that persistence matters!! Good luck to you all.

You are my inspiration, Mobaby! And I love what you said about your ds not being here if you didn't go through all that! Makes me feel better that I am fighting for the baby that's meant to be in this world! Hopefully he/she will join the world soon!

Mobaby :D Thank you for posting!

I love a good old success story after so many years of trying, like beneath said you are most definitely and inspiration to us ladies who are having no luck.

I will take all of your advice on board and if we can afford more treatment in the future we would definitely look at another clinic. I feel like my doctor is useless

x

Morning ladies, hope everyone is doing well!

Beneath, I am on CD22... no idea if ovulation has happened. I don't have the usual post ovulation signs like sore boobs and to be honest I didn't particularly have any signs that it was happening either. I feel lost this cycle! Think we are definitely going to have to look at temping next cycle.
