Birth Story.
LO was breech until 38+6, the day before my csection..
16/11/12 I was 2cm dilated and having irregular painless braxton hicks that were basically at night up until my waters started leaking.
11am, 19/11/12 (41+4w) I went to get my eyebrows waxed with mum. At about 11:30am I went to the shop right after we got our eyebrows waxed and as I walked through the entry of the shop I felt a teeny leak and I told mum ill be back as I'm going to the toilet. Well, there was a little bit of miconium waters on my liner. I walked back to mum and told her and we got to the car not long afterwards and as I sat down I felt more of a leakage, as if I pee'd my pants, as we were driving we hit a little down hill part in the road and the gravity made me leak even more! I was like 'oh god, this is it.. My waters are going, and it feels like I'm weeing myself!' I got home and I soaked through a few maternity pads with the miconium waters and it usually happened as I stood up. Eventually I sat on a towel. 12pm I called the hospital and they said I sound fine and to stay at home for as long as possible but call back in an hour as they are busy and need to find room for me. I called my nan to inform her what was happening. After the hour was up I called back and they said to labour at home as long as possible... After I got off the phone to the hospital I called my nan and told her to come when she can. At 2pm I called the hospital back and said I'm going to come in. I waited a bit longer and then I left about 2:25pm and got to the hospital about 2:40pm and I got put on the CTG to monitor my contractions and LOs heart rate. After 40/45mins I got a internal and I was 7-8cm. I texted FOB to come and he got to me about 4pm? At 5:30/6pm I got another internal which made me bleed a bit for a while and I was passed 9cm but not quiet 10cm and LO was still very high.. I was sitting on the toilet for ages as it was so comfy and by 7:30pm i started to push a little and I ended up asking for a birthing stool and oh boy the pressure in my bum from that hurt so I got on the bed and kneeled upright and used the bed head as support as it was sitting up. I only had about 7 sucks of gas and air by this stage (midwife set it up just passed 3:30pm) and it didn't even work, I was only getting oxygen. LO was basically stuck and up high so I had to stop pushing and wait for her to come down with each contraction and a few little pushes. At about 8pm the midwife said 'if this baby isn't out by 9:30pm we will talk about the vacuum or forceps.. About 8:15pm another midwife come in and I got my phone taken off me because I had to push and wasnt aloud on it ( I had been on it texting my mum and bestfriend everything haha). Bit before 10pm I ended up playing tug a war with the midwife and it was the bloody BEST THING EVER! (I was sat up but leaning back and legs on the feet things on the side of the bed.) i got the head out eventually and the shoulders hurt as LO was born with her fist at her chin, causing me to get a episiotomy and I sucked on the gas and air and the oxygen was really helpful as I wasn't really breathing because I was trying to push even with no contraction as I was determined to get the baby out and I was telling the midwife I could do this ;D . 10:33pm I have birth and LO was skin on skin on my chest and it took her about a minute to cough then start to breathe. She then pooped on me and wee'd 3times! I had 5 stitches and I complained about the needle in my leg

I gave LO a feed and cuddles for ages (we were together an hour) then she got weighed and cleaned up as she was in old miconium waters and fresh poo all over her and me. I had a shower (lost my sence of gravity and I was like jelly and almost fell over lol) while my nan (and pop as he rocked up after I gave birth) and FOB went to my room and my mum and stepdad came and I met them in my room.
Ruby Isabella Nicholson-Boyd was 4110g (9lb 1oz) 49cm long and 34cm hc.
- The times arent correct, its just from what i remember.
My contractions were irregular the whole time, I was leaking fluids up until I gave birth, I had a bit of back to back labour and Ruby turned DURING labour and came out the way she was suppose to. I didn't cry, yell or scream during labour.
It's not as bad as everybody says IMO (not every labour is the same and not everyone's pain tolerance is the same) i have a good pain tolerance so that helped. I loved my labour.
Ruby is a NATURAL breast feeder, I've not had sore boobs or nipples, when my milk came in my boobs were huge and hard but didn't hurt. I've got such a good milk supply I could feed triplets lol. She is such a good bubby!! She sleeps really good aswell
If your calm and relaxed it makes everything so much easier and also makes your baby calm and relaxed.
I honestly could not of asked for a better pregnancy, labour or baby. It's been a really good experience, and there's lots more to look forward to in the future
