Hi everyone..please advice as my heart is sick right now...I suffered a Chemical pregnancy on may 28th 2014 i knew it was coming as the tests i took never seemed to get dark..i bled on the 28th...took a digital that confirmed what i already knew..pregnancy was lost..BFN on the 28th of May...few more preganancy tests all came back BFN..did not follow up for bloodwork because the tests all were Negative...days go by and i start taking OPKs to try again...ON JUNE 7th i got a :D that would be 11 days AFTER my loss...followed by a negative opk from then on as i wanted to see when my surge was over.....I started testing since 6dpo all BFN.....until today 10dpo i got a faint postive on 2 internet cheapies and a BIG YES+ on first response digital...I called my obgyn and they said..you can't be pregant that is leftover hcg from last pregnancy...she wouldn't listen to the fact that i already had postive ovulation as will as negative...and about 15 negative pregancy tests till i got todays positve ones...so what do you think...can they be wrong and this is a new set of hcg hormones and not leftover from my very short lived pregnancy last month..i hate that she is said its not possible and now i have to take blood work so she could prove to me my numbers are going down

First of all that is so rude of that lady who said that! It's very possible to be pregnant again, especially if you've had all negative tests and then you've got a BFP, I'd say it's a new pregnancy. I'd ring that woman back and tell her to listen to you and book in with your doctor.

i took another test today...and it was darker...wouldn't it be even lighter if what she is saying is true...I have bloodwork now that i have to take at 1:00 today, then again on saturday because they just don't think i could have lost a pregnancy and gotten pregnant again within 22 days of one another..i think i am pregnant that this is NEW hcg and not leftover...i had a very hard time getting those tests to show color the first time around..why would 3 weeks later would they be darker if that pregnancy was lost

I totally agree with you. I don't think it's common to get PG that soon but it happens. the important thing is that you did OPKs and were getting - then + then -. Your PG tests are getting darker which is a good sign. This is my second bfp and both times I had a + opk. I don't believe you can have a - opk when you are PG, so that means that your HCG dropped.

Good luck today.

She's talking total crap, lots of women don't ever know they had a cp there certainly wouldn't be any hcg left. There's lots of people get pregnant just as quick after a miscarriage further on too.
Congratulations you are pregnant. Xx

I had a chemical last month too. I started bleeding on May 5 and got another BFP on May 31. I am now 6 weeks pregnant and have had hcg drawn and everything is looking great.

I had a m/c last July followed by a blighted ovum/miscarriage in early October. When I had an appt cancelled by my dentist because of the miniscule chance of me being pg without a period after my last loss, I tested expecting to see a BFN so I could call and reschedule. To my utter amazement and undying shock, I got a BFP on not one but 4 different tests (including a digi). I called my dr to get bloods done to confirm a new pg and she said the same thing. "Old hCG left over from your loss." A repeat blood test proved my hCG was rising and this was indeed a new pregnancy so my dr predicted miscarriage and gave me a very strong lecture on how I brought this on myself because I 'didn't listen to my doctor' and I 'got pregnant WAY too fast.' I was supposedly told to wait 3 cycles before ttc and we were wtt at the time but she didn't believe me when I said it just happened. I stuck with her for another week until I started spotting and she upped her 'You're miscarrying' talk. At that point I switched doctors and am so much happier with my new OB. He's been nothing but encouraging and supportive and I honestly believe that his attitude helped me get through the stressful, anxious moments of my first trimester. I'm now 36 almost 37 weeks and counting down the days til I meet my baby. The very same baby I was 'supposed to' miscarry all the way back at 5 weeks because I got pregnant when I was told not to. So yes, it's possible (and based on your lines getting darker quite probable) that this is a new pregnancy and things can turn out okay. I'm proof of that.

You just concieved without a cycle in between. Same happened to me. Started to bleed on March 10th at 5w3d ten doctor comfirmed I miscarried then I got a bfp 30 days after the bleeding started on april 8th. Very possible. With the miscarriage the lines never got darker but once I became pregnant again they got darker everyday! I'd say congrats are in order!

There is no way you could still have HCG in your system weeks after a CP - how frustrating that they don't understand that. Congratulations!!!!!
