The day before my due date 2-feb, I had been having lots of braxton hicks I thought nothing of it as I'd had loads and for the last few months so didn't think it was a sign of labour,
Me and OH went to bed and were feeling amorous so we dtd lol thought it would be the last time for a while, we never would have if I'd actually realised I was in labour!!
In previous pregnancies the real labour pains started as period like cramps that would get stronger, not like braxtons that felt like tightnings plus none of my other children arrived on time they were all late!
Anyway we were laying there and the braxtons (or so I thought) got really intense and were coming every 3-4 mins
OH was really worried and thought he'd caused it, I went to the loo and got a lot of fluid come out that was bloody!
I rang delivery suite and the midwife said she'd send someone round to check me to save me going in to early, literally as soon as I put the phone down the contractions were so intense and I had another gush of fluid, I quickly called her back and said I'm coming in now! My labours are quick and this was baby 5 for me!
Contractions were 2-3 mins apart but I said I didn't want any pain relief yet so we got settled in and changed my clothes, it all seemed to go so quickly the pain got a lot worse so I asked for gas and air which really didn't help lol
The midwife examined me and said she would keep the fingers there while I was contracting to see how much the cervix would stretch! Omg that hurt so much I pushed her hand out!
Turned out I was already 7 cm Dilated and baby's head was pushing down far with each contraction
At this point I asked for diamorphine, which started working after 20 mins and it knocked me sideways I was literally unconscious between contractions which was horrible as I wanted to be more alert, I don't know how much time passed as I was so groggy and only alert when the contraction came.
I pushed her head out which wasn't to bad, but she had turned sideways and her arm came out after her head Oh said it was like she was waving hello world!!
and with the final push the shoulders and body followed, ouch!!!
At 3.23am on her due date My beautiful Eden was born weighing 7lb4oz and stunning the midwives kept saying oh she's so perfect and pretty!
I needed no stitches
we huggled for ages having skin to skin.
Iam so happy and In love and my soul is healed.
