The actual procedure was relatively painless but OMG the cramps afterwards were unbelievable. I get fairly bad cramps anyway but this was something else, I was crying and shaking and rocking for about an hour afterwards until some painkillers kicked in.

On the upside my tubes and uterus are clear, the only thing that was discovered is that my uterus is retroverted (or something like that, its backwards). Apparently this isn't the reason why I haven't got pg but it seems that instead of lying with my legs in the air after sex I should be flat on my face with my bum in the air instead:blush: I've been forcing the little spermies the wrong way for the last two years :dohh:

They kept saying this isn't a problem but it always makes you wonder when something slightly unusual is found, I am concerned as to where I go from here though as I feel I'm heading for the unexplained infertility category and then shown the NHS door (my dp has children:hissy:)

Next appointment is in a couple of weeks so not long to wait at least

Sorry to hear about your cramps. I also had my HSG last week and was just wondering how you got your results straight away? The radiographer told me she wasn't qualified to tell me what they showed and I now have to wait until the end of July for my next FS appointment to find out about mine.

I have also been wondering about this. I have an HSG on tuesday and pelvic ultrasound on thursday but my next appointment with the gynae is not until October!!!! However she did give me here secretary's number which she said I could ring at any time if I had any questions so I might do that. I would have thought though if there was a problem the FS would be in touch??

Sorry about the cramps - but it mus feel good to have that procedure done. I hated it.

I had an ultrasound first and the radiographer showed me the screen and told me that everything looked perfectly normal, apart from the retroverted uterus. Then I went for my HSG and again they showed me the screen so I could see the dye going through both tubes. They all said tubes weren't blocked and everything looked normal. I do have another appointment to discuss the results but left happy that everything was fine. I don't know why they couldn't put your mind at rest as its pretty obvious whether the dye is going through the tubes or not, once they showed me what I was looking for its pretty unmistakeable.

Good luck with your appointment xx

When i had my HSG i was given the results straight away.
