I really like the name caliope. I had some negative responces for my lo josephines name, but it meant alot to me and she is defenatly a josie and everyone now loves it. Cali is sweet to. As soon as i read it i thought of greys anatomy

I'm not keen on Calliope sounds and bit nursery rhyme'y like it should be in the Mary popins song!
I do like Callie though.

I love Calliope, I'm a big mythology fan, too. Although I'd have calliope music stuck in my head if I used the name, lol. I suggested both Calista and Calypso to my DH, but they were no-gos.

I hope you get to use the name you love. If not, maybe look around the other Greek names, there are so many. I've always loved Ariadne, but that's probably even more out there than Calliope, lol, so I doubt he'd go for it.
