Names you like but can't use for some reason

We all have names that we love but we can't use them for one reason or another.. What are yours?

I like the boys name alfie - my brother named his dog alfie
I like the girls name molly -mil mamed her dog molly 1 m ago!!
I like the name Jodie but it reminds me of a friend I had as a teenager who nicked my swatch that my gran got me before she died
I like the name minnie but the connection to minnie mouse is killing it for me!

I like Lucas, but DH's best friend called his first baby Luca in May so kind of stole it.
I like Hayden (boy), but Hayden Pannatierre came along and made everyone think it was too girly.
I like Riley & Finley but the Lee sound makes too much of a tongue twister with our surname which is 'Lyn.........'

when i had my daughter i love Demi but oh's surname is moore..... also when i had my son i like bobby.... yet again the moore was the problem lol x

I had my heart set on Lucas, but his girl I don't really get on with ( I can't stand her tbh ) she called her new baby Lucas I think she stole the name tbh.

Molly, but my cousin called his baby Molly.

Jacob James but OH won't let me have it

Esme, Edie, Isabella, Bella but again OH won't let me use it

Scarlett - I liked it when I was pregnant with LO but he came out a boy & 3 family members were pregnant at the same time but a couple of months behind, 2 named their daughters Scarlett & the other had a son and named him Charlie (My son is Jayden Charlie )

Max - was my first choice for a boy but OH said no because he hates this guy called Max ..

Daisy - OH said it reminds him of a cow!

Alfie - I liked Alfie but my neighbour named their cat Alfie and that's all I can think of when I hear the name now!

Layla - Just beause of someone I know!

Loads of other names OH won't let me use .. Ruby, Isabella, Zack, Alexander, Oliver! I'm the same with him though to be fair! I won't let him use Elijah, Dylan, Paige ..

alfie - my best friends little man is called alfie, and its getting way too popular for me now as well.
Lauren - ^^ my best friends name
Lucas - OH has a little boy from a previous relationship called luke
Caileb - sounds to similar to OH's other little boy
Macie - another similar name
Amelia - verypretty but way too popular for my liking
Lola Grace - one of my ex friends stole this from me three days before giving birth when she was adament her little girls name was going to be scarlett.
Scarlett (as a first name) - getting quite popular in my area now.

and there are more but cant think of them now. as you can see names that are getting quite popular i wont have as i want my children to go to school and be known for their name and not have loads of others named the same in their class i.e being known as Ruby number 1 or by surname so Ruby C. i dont like that if i choose a name i want her/him to be known as their name chosen and not anything else. xx

haha i love the name willow but everytime i think of it i keep getting the geeky girl from buffy in my head and think nah cant use it lol.

lily - my sister dearly departed cat (and again another name getting ridiculously popular!)
poppy - my sisters and a friends cat
benji - mum and dads dog
cassie - oh's mums dog
sally - mum and dads first dog
oliver - friends little boys name (too popular as well)
finley - cousins little boys name who is exactly one year older than my two lol
Harlow - sister kindly reminds me everytime i mention it that its a not so nice place in essex (not what i think though so please essex ladies dont have a go! used to live in essex!) and also the link to nicole richies daughter.
any 'normal' name lol - for the reason i like slightly individual and unusual names to give my children character and their own name, so no davids, matthews, sarahs, sophies (no offence to anyone who likes them i personally dont as they are too 'normal' for me hehe). xx

what about changing it slightly to Yvie? (evie just changes the i to an e sound and its different spelling to the more popular evie) xx

He doesn't like the sound of the name as Ivy and I don't like Evie 'cause it's so popular round here.
Daisy is top of the list now, but I want Ivy!!!

Im lucky that my DH is my best friend and we pretty much agree on everything, so our list of names was put together easily and quickly, theres only one that we can't/wont use anymore, and thats because we decided it doesnt really go with our surname

These were some of the names we discounted for Maddie for various reasons:

Ella - sounds bit too much like a tongue twister with our surname Lee

Lola - same reason as above

Ruby - love this name but a horrible little girl who lives up the road is called this.

Beau - Love this name but I had an Afghan hound when I was little called Beau.

Grace/Gracie - Its my best friends little girls name.

Darcy - My cousin called her little girl it.

Elizabeth - someone in OH fam has that name and isnt a nice person.
Alexandra- sounds like someone else in OH family
Evangeline- because apparently she would be bullied for that name.
James- williams middle name
Marcus - landlords name and he may think I was naming my child after him in some weird way.
A handful of other names just from people that i dont like that I cant call my child. Like i cant call my kid someone who bullied me in school or something.

Caiden -- Rhymes with my son's name
Landon -- My friend would be pissed bc she wanted this for her son but her hubby said no

Robert - It's my dad's middle name, but OH and his family think that all Roberts are as$holes
Daniel - OH's dad's name, but we can't use it because SIL used it for her son's middle name
Caelum - I love it but OH thinks it's too weird
Evan - My favourite name but OH absolutely hates it for some reason
Christopher - OH's name... he flat out refuses to give his son his name, even as a middle name
Kevin - my biological father's name... haven't seen him at all throughout my entire life due to his drug problems... My mom would be insanely hurt if we chose this name

I like Oliver or Ollie for short but my friend who is due a few weeks before me is calling her LO it.

I also liked Mia for a girl but my cousins LO is called Mia, and although she said she wouldnt of been offended if we used it, it still didnt feel right to call our baby Mia xx

Olivia - friend had a baby a few months ago called Olivia
William - we already have Grace so would be Will and Grace!
Eleanor - not keen on Ellie and read that its a form of Helen which is my husband's ex's name who I have a problem with!
Samuel - 2 family babies born in the last 6 months
Rose - a family baby born earlier this year
Edward - this is still a possibility, just worried about the twilight connection making it too popular

DH liked Charlie for a boy, I liked Karly for a girl. Then my SIL named her little girl Charlea...meaning neither of us get to use our favourite names!
