Hi everyone, well LO and I have been to doc this afternoon for our 6 week appointment and LO has been prescribed gaviscon to hopefully help with the reflux she's been having.
well she is formula fed and it comes in sachets to go into the bottle. The doc and the pharmacist both told me to put 2 sachets into her bottle. However, I've since read the instructions on the box and it says for babies over 4.5kg to put 2 sachets in not less than 225ml of formula. Now that is an 8oz bottle. She is only on 5oz bottles, usually only drinks 4-5. Does this mean I need to be making up 8oz bottles??? I really can't afford to be doing that since she will leave half of it every time. Should I just use one sachet maybe? it says for babies under 4.5kg (if she's above it, it's only just, hasn't been weighed in 2 weeks but was 4.06kg then) to put one sachet in not less than 115ml, which is 4oz. Surely it would make more sense for me to put one sachet into the 5oz bottle then?
Any advice appreciated! Thanks!
