Hi Ladies, I'm new here

I need some advice and thought maybe some of you ladies could help me... I know that the blue dye tests are infamous for evap lines, even blue ones- however, I did not know this before I bought a box of them.

AF is now officially (at least) 8 days late- however, the only day of unprotected sex we had was on October 2- 12 days ago- when I figured that I was "safe". (OK, let's just say in charting for three years, I've always been on a 26-28 day cycle.) Ovulating THAT late, for me, was pretty much out of the question. However I was under an enormous amount of stress last month... much more than usual, so ovulating on CD 25 may have been uncommon but very possible.

I took an "American Fare" (pretty much the same test as those II blue dye tests) yesterday, the line came up right away, but faint. After awhile it was still there, but nothing like this morning's line.

This morning, that "faint" line is not "faint" anymore. Watching the test develop, it took awhile for the CONTROL line to show up at the rate that the TEST line showed up. Now if this IS an evap line, that's pretty insane- right? It's definitely blue- not just on the "thin strip" part I've been reading about but totally blue.

FRER Guess what? Nothing.

If I ovulated THAT late, I'd be 11 or 12 DPO, most likely. Has anyone ever seen an evap THIS BAD??? (Are these blue dye tests honestly THIS horrible??)

When I had my son 7 years ago, I had the same kind of thing happen on an EPT... those thin lines along the side and pink in the middle.

Yesterday's blue dye test was negotiable. To me, this appears a much darker "negotiable".

Have any of you had this happen... I mean this is pretty dark if you ask me to be an evap??

I'm 38... age does not reduce shock factor.

I 100% agree with Ashley, but then again, im no expert, iv never had any experience with these tests or any blue dye ones... Sorry i coudnt help but in my eyes it looks like a !! Congrats !!! Xx

I am/was shocked. I'm a single mom with a seven year old boy, just reuninted with my long lost love, who just left all of his family and friends to move here/be with us. I can't believe at 38 years old I am pregnant... I seriously thought I was done... it's been so tough raising a son on my own, I always said "no more!" LOL!!

Wow, my son is going to be absoultely thrilled... he has been telling me to "put another baby in there" for years!!

I hope I can stick around and meet some of you... I should make a profile and introduce myself then

It does look like a BFP, but I'm puzzled why the FRER was a bfn?

I had some nasty false positives on blue dye tests last year, but they weren't anywhere near as clear as your line!

Did you test again to be sure?

Oh goodness...

I went to retest this morning and guess what? I thought af was showing up. I took the test anyway, with an EPT and it was negative. I then took the other blue dye test (with the one pictured at the top of this thread) and it, too, was negative?

I was SURE that AF was here all day but nothing... just a spot this morning and that's it... and minor cramping... this has never happened. For me, AF is red right away, never mixed with cm (sorry if TMI) and this was a lot of cm with a twinge of pink blood in it. (Again sorry if TMI but you ladies here know what I mean)

I think it was a faulty test... but where is my period?? It doesn't just show up for a minute and then leave again. All day, nothing... though I feel like I've had it all day.

The FRER was definitely negative.

I've read about the blue dye tests... now I'm thinking that test is definitely faulty...

Other scenario: I am pregnant, and I just implanted this morning. I did have minor cramping all night and today and I thought it was a sign of pregnancy. :???::

Okay 9/10 oct could fit in with implantation bleeding if thats what the spotting was today, so you might be around 7dpo?? maybe. You would probably need to wait 2 or three days now to re-test if af doesnt rear her ugly head! And what do you mean 38 and finished cmon!!!! Im 41 and Im not finshed just yet! Fingers crossed for you hun!xxx

yes blue test's are not very good .. i have had hard times with them .. and as the girls say, maybe implantation bleeding? hence why cus no Hcg just yet .. in a couple days if no af i have everything crossed for you xxxx good luckkkkkkk

Thanks ladies I'll keep everyone updated... yep, today cramping has stopped, and of course... AF nowhere in sight. I have no idea what that spotting could have been other than implantation because I have never had that before.. ever. I'm thinking that because I did not ovulate last month (perimenopause.. LOL!) the "lining" was thicker and so when I implanted, I noticed it. Wow, now if I could just get some work done- boy is it hard to think about anything else when you are waiting to know... I thought stoning to death would be torture.. LMAO
