Need Fertility Tips!

Hi All,

I'm finishing up AF now and am about to start my fourth month of TTC #1. I'd like to know any tips or tricks you all have that may help boost my chances of getting a BFP this month. Once I enter my fertile window, I plan on using preseed since I'm not producing the most fertile CM, leading up to O. Other than that, I have read of countless "fertility boosters" but don't know where to start!
 
Well, first one is very obvious, have sex, lot of it during your fertile window. DTD about three times a week (having it too often may reduce sperm count). Sperm can live up to three days in a woman's body, so you'll increase your chances of getting pregnant, even if you have sex three days before you ovulate. Lay in bed for 10 to 15 minutes after intercourse, but you don't need your feet in the air. Have a healthy diet, rich in calcium, iron and folic acid. Get adequate sunlight to soak up vitamin D.

It seems like you already know your cycle. However, don’t overlook “his” health as well. Avoid smoking and drinking in this period to protect those little swimmers. Try to be stress-free and enjoy TTC process
 
Thanks, tinytummy! I've read mixed opinions on the whole "BDing every day" thing. Some say every day helps sperm motility and others say it doesn't. It's so confusing! Haha. I think We will do every other day.
 
Me and oh where ttc for the first time with this one as last one was a surprise and tbh I was getting slightly frustrated whenever I got a :bfn: and read up all the tips on how to get pregnant and even went as silly as buying a silly little rose quartz heart that's for love and fertility :dohh: haha oh and not forgetting the fertility symbol that I looked up and then drew... :dohh: :haha:

In the end I just gave up and thought all this is driving me crazy! And the first month we stopped ttc and actually had more enjoyable and spontaneous sex because of not stressing about ttc is the month I fell pregnant! :happydance: so I would say before going all crazy like I did and stressing yourself out I would try the just having carefree sex regularly because well yous want to and love eachother :) takes the stress away and well it worked for me! Haha Good luck! :flower:
 
My specialist told me to have sex every day of fertile window as long as dh has good sperm! But my OB said if you aren't sure of fertile window to just bd eod starting on day 9
 
Hi the every other day sounds about right, also are you using opks? I usually dtd everyday for 3 days day of ppsitive opk & next 2 days. Also both times i used preseed worked for me i used the applicators about 1.5mg is more than enough everytime we dtd. Also you can take evening primrose oil capsules up until ovulation for help with ewcm. That's all i can suggest & i did try robitussin up until ovulation to help think out cm that might have helped.

Did take me 4 years though & was on clomid before i tried all that so 4 months is really nothing hopefully you conceive quick but upto a year is more common than we think good luck
 
is your cervix tilted or normal? If tilted, doggy style is a better position.
How is your vitamin D level..make sure to take supplements if you are not getting adequate sunlight.

Of course have sex when your are most fertile.
Try to have fun like others said...I hear so many stories of people getting pregnant when they didn't stress getting pregnant so much.
 
Take folic acid or folate daily if your not already ( aids ovulation, egg quality and prevents birth defects). OPKs give you a good idea of when your ovulating , men typically have the highest sperm count after abstaining for 3-4 days so we try to plan it accordingly . chart your cycles on fertility friend. try not to stress over conceiving and dont obsess over symptoms in the LP.
 
I'm taking prenatals and using OPKs. I take Zyrtec regularly and I think that's why I don't get EWCM. Unfortunately, I can't stop taking it or I'd be miserably sick and unable to even BD in the first place! I found some recipes for "fertility smoothies" that I may try out. They're full of superfoods and are supposed to help with hormone regulation, but even if they don't, they should help boost my immune system for cold and flu season!

I also read that sperm is stronger the more your partner is turned on. We may have to start slowing things down and not focusing on the whole pregnancy part of it to take away the pressure for him.

reading in on your forum! this is my 6th cycle ttc #1. weve used preseed since cycle 3. and I used opks on cycles 2 & 3. SMEP cycles 3,4 & 5. Cycle 5 hubs and I both started taking some supplements for infertility, they help boost sperm count and mobility, and mine help my ovaries function correctly! which I totally noticed having more cm and it regulated my period. just coming off of AF into cycle 6 we decided we are going to use opks again, and BD once I start to get a surge and then stop after they go back to negative. we will use preseed again, and continue our supplements. and EVERYONE says, "relax and don't stress and that's when it will happen".... well my question is... HOW IN HECK DO YOU NOT THINK ABOUT IT?!?!? lol! I really felt cycle 5 we have more casual sex, and weren't like "ok its a baby making day lets do this" I felt so confidant about it! its so frustrating! our sex has definitely become more relaxed and not so scheduled, yet we are still trying to get it in on the right days! its something that's always on my mind I feel like! and at my job, we see a lot of pregnant women, and its just so in my face! so any advice on how to NOT stress?? ive started taking bubble baths, and deep breathing.

Also when using preseed... is there such thing as too much? sometimes ive put in more that they say, although it says you CAN use more.

You can try drinking a big glass of grapefruit juice every day during the last week or so before ovulation. It is known to increase EWCM, making it thinner and easier to move for sperm cells. Stay hydrated; try Evening primrose oil or borage seed oil (after consulting your doc). It has also been shown to increase CM.
