Im looking to do Children Nursing when Ive completed my access course im just worried about the work load and if i will manage with everything also with my kids as well, I do have family support and i know if it comes to it they will help me out with childcare but will i fit everything in? I did want to do the part-time nursing course but they've now stopped this at the Uni i was going to apply to the nearest place they do it part time is miles away and would mean moving but then i wouldn't have the family support anymore im so confused i really want this but dont want it to be that my kids suffer as dont have anytime .

hiya,
Im a staff nurse and have been qualified almost a year now, although through my training i didnt have any kids to think about i did have alot of friends who had children. If im completely honest the work load is intense but it is also managable. i had a part time job whilst at uni and managed to fit it all in (i know been a mum is a full time job so its not exactly the same). during my training alot of fellow students had to cope with life changing experiences, some got pregnant, moved house, got married, got divorced, had relatives pass away.
i suppose what im trying to say in a round about way, is that things happen and we simply have to deal with it and adapt for change, im sure with good time management and family support you would do just fine. i personally wouldnt move away because this change could be disruptive for all your family and family support would be beneficial through your training.
There will be highs and lows and probably days when you think its all too much but stick it out and it will be worth it
good luck
xx
