I was diagnosed with PCOS in august which was really hard for me to handle. Although Ive only been TTC since March is has deff taken a toll on mine and DH marriage and life. With each passing AF it makes in harder and harder to cope. SO heres the deal.. Im on 1000mg of metformin a day. I started this in August and I have 1 more month supply of my 3 month script. I did have the option to go to the doctors last month to get clomid but i decided to wait until my 3 month of metformin was up to give it a chance to work. Now could you lovely ladies give me your options on if i should up my dose of metformin after this month and try for 3 more months.. Or go to the doctors and get clomid for when AF comes next time. I am CD2 right now..
I guess reading stories of how some woman with pcos trying for years and years has gotten me pretty paranoid
THanks girlies

I would go ahead and get the Clomid. Metformin alone doesn't work for everybody, but a lot of PCOS women have success with it and Clomid together, especially.

Do you have regular periods and do you think you ovulate? Have you used OPks/temping for a few months?

I guess the answer will depend on the above!

I dont have any advice to offer but just wanted to wish you good luck xx

Thanks girlies.. The only symptoms I have of pcos are irregular cycles that range 23-75 days apart and I have cysts on both overies found from transvaginal ultrasound. I'm not sure if I ovulate because I've tried opks one month and I got 6 strong positive opks so my body was gearing up to ovulate but didn't release an egg.

I'm in the exact same boat! I wont tell you what to do... cause everyone is different but what I'm doing is taking 1500mg for 3 months and then going back to the DR. We will then retest my hormone levels... I'm taking the Metformin because my cycles are wacko too. At that point we will reevaluate the situation... if it appears things are going well and leveling out then I will continue to take the metformin for a while longer and hopefully conceive naturally. If it is not doing anything at all then we will be talking about Clomid.

I initial thought is to just take the clomid and get pregnant ASAP... but once I talked about it with my dr we decided to try and correct the under lying problem.

Good Luck with what ever you choose!!!!
