Situps alone won't offer you a flat belly. The only method to get a flat tummy is to decrease the level of total fat in your body.

This.
You can't 'spot reduce' fat from one area of your body.
xx

Ha ha, I know that, can you imagine being fat everywhere else, but having a washboard stomach? Just not going to happen. What I should have said was, are sit ups the only/best exercise to get a flat stomach or are there any other exercises? Plus, once the skin has been stretched can it go back?

God i hope the stretched skin goes back. Ive lost a fair bit of my baby weight but still have the wrinkly tum :( I still have a fair bit to lose so hoping it will finally go back (ish)
x

I have that wrinkly tum too, I don't mind it so much I just want it to be flat xx

Best way to a flat tummy is cardiovascular exercise such as running or cross trainer (or aerobics, zumba etc) to burn the fat around your stomach. Doing sit ups will only make your stomach look bigger as your abs will push the fat out further. I'd say shed any fat first and then start with the muscle toning. :)

You can't spot reduce fat. Which means, if you have extra body fat on your tummy you just have to reduce your body fat all over.
What about using kettlebells https://www.myomytv.com/start-here-best-beginners-home-workout-routines-ten-minutes-a-day/

Lifting heavy weights is best way to tone up and burn fat especially if your like me and are as they say "skinny fat" lol!!

There is some good workout videos on here:

Where can I get kettle bells from? X

Ive seen them in tesco and argos, im sure must sport shops you sell them aswell.
You dont look like you have "weight" to loose so do minimal cardio and weights or kettlebells.
Wish my tummy looked as flat as yours.

Thanks Hun, I need to lose about 5-7lbs, but I hate the 'overhang' I have, admittedly it doesn't look bad here, it's when I wear trousers/jeans etc. I think where it used to be super flat, I want it to return to that. I'm worried that it's stretched skin and it won't go back x

I'm the same hun, after 3 kids have lots of loose skin was talking to a pt and she was telling me about kettlebells and weight lifting so have started lifting weights and doing core exercises the plank is very good to help tone the tummy area. I look fine with clothes on but with out them not such a pretty sight lol!! Im a size uk10, 60kg and 5ft 5inches, but when i put weight on it all goes onto my tummy :growlmad: if i do lots of carbio i loose weight but also loose my boobs and bum and they are small enough as it is :haha: so have started strength training i do about 30/40mins a day only started 2 weeks ago but can notice an improvement already.

That's what I am! Uk 10, 60Kg ad 5 ft 5!!! I think I need to strengthen my core muscles first and try and do what you do- how do you find time with 3 kids? When do you do your exercises? Xx

The minute i get back form dropping the boys to school i put DD into her playden in front of tv with an apple it gives me 30/40mins to get a workout done. When the older ones are on school holidays its harder because they are either fighting or looking for something.
