I was just wondering if it was possible to have all negative hpt's but have a positive blood test? I'm going on Monday for a blood test at my doctors if af hasn't come by then, but so far there's no sign of her! I'm almost a week late for af. I'm on cycle day 36 (last period started on 12/18) and I think I'm 18 dpo (but that's just a guess based on cm). I took two blue dye rite aid tests on Monday and there were faint lines on them but then I took multiple frer and answer tests (Monday through today) all definitely negative!! My mom once told me that she never got a positive on a urine test with me or my sister, so I thought maybe its a genetic thing that I wouldn't be able to show hcg in urine? lol...I don't know. I just am driving myself and my dh crazy this month because I'm usually 28-30 cycle days. I've been tracking my cycles since May and the only time I ever went past 30 days was in September (33 days), so I think its pretty safe to say this is unusual for me. Any insight would be gladly appreciated!! Thanks!!! :)

oh yeah I figured I should also add that I have had a few symptoms so far. My boobs are really sore, but this didn't start until a few days ago. I've had a lot of heartburn/indigestion, on and off nausea (never enough that I think I'm going to vomit or anything, very subtle), and a few days ago I went to walk into the kitchen and almost fell over because I had this extremely sharp pain in what I think is my left ovary area. It only last about 10 seconds but it felt like someone stuck a knife in me. I also had a few weird pains around my bellybutton last night before I went to bed.

I heard it is def possible to have all negative prego tests and a positive blood test. Its sounding good so far I hope the blood test comes back POSITIVE for you!!!

There is something called a "hook effect" where your hcg is too high in your urine to be read by HPT. You have to slightly dilute your urine, or do a blood test. This may be the case for you, I had it happen with my last two pregnancies

Good luck, let us know the outcome wont you...xx

Hi

I am waiting on blood work as my urine tests all come back BFN but feel pregnant, i'm 7days late today had blood tests on Friday and have to another lot tomorrow morning to see if they can see a rise in HCG.

I demanding these tests as i had a sharp pain in my right side on and off and was afraid it was somthing bad but they have gone, im hoping it was someone making them selves comfy :)

What ended up happening with you ladies?!

I'm going in to my doc tomorrow. I've had over 20 negative hpt's. Yes, I know, that's obsessive....but I've just felt like I'm pregnant this month and also have had symptoms that I've never had. I kept testing because I just didn't believe the hpt's were telling me the truth when they said BFN. Lol. Today is CD 47 for me (last AF started December 29th)! My cycles can be a bit irregular but they're never longer than 39 days. There's no sign of AF coming soon as my temps are up and in the high 98's and I just don't feel the way I usually do when AF is coming. Everything about this cycle has been so different, so bloodwork will hopefully shed some light on the situation. If I'm not preg for sure, I'd at least like to know what's going on with this body of mine. All of these symptoms have to be coming from somewhere and I know that I'm not imagining them. Come back and update ladies! :D

Yep my Mom went through the same thing with her as well, I've never had a positive result either grrr, not sure if its genetic though...

Good Luck hun... Can't wait to hear your results... FX'd you get your :bfp:

There are occasions where you get late/no BFP and it has to do with a lack of hCG being filtered into your urine OR hCG being too diluted to be picked up by an HPT. I don't know if the lack of hCG in urine is genetic or not, but it does happen to some women during some pregnancies and not other pregnancies.

hey there! I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that replied to my original posts! It turns out I wasn't preggers, but we are still trying! Again, sorry I haven't been on this site in a while! :)
