Hi Ladies,

My little lady was diagnosed with a milk allergy and was put on Nutramigen, which wasnt helping, and now Neocate. We have been on it for a week now and she is much better in herself regarding her allergy but is now experiencing the following:

Sleeping problems - really hard to get her to sleep and STAY asleep
WIND! brings it up really well burp wise, but really suffers with passing bottom wind seems like it is really hurting as she is screaming
Not filling her up - she seems hungry all the time and she is taking more than the recommended amount on the tin! - Would putting something like Carobel in to thicken it help with making her feel fuller?

Any help/advice massively appreciated! (also posted in FF)

:hugs:

Hello. My lo is on Neocate too.

How much is she taking and how often?

It sounds like you have swapped one problem for another. My lo never had bad wind so not sure there - maybe wind 2 or 3 times during the feed. Winding can take up to half an hour. Keep her upright for half an hour after the feed. Does she have a bouncy chair she can sit in?

Could she be having a growth spurt? tbh, I wouldn't put Carobel in it without checking with our doctor first. Does it contain milk?

When you say STAY asleep, do you mean at night time? It could just be new baby behaviour that she doesn't want to sleep.

Hi thanks for responding. I bring her up to wind her every oz and a half and she brings it up really well. She will take between 5-7oz every 3-4 hours. She does ok at night sleeping does a 5hour sleep but then unsettled and waking up with painful farting. Bu it's the day sleeps that are pretty bad. She used to sleep really well in the day but now since neocate she doesn't go to sleep easily and keeps waking up (maybe with a bad belly as she is asleep and something is definitely waking her) I really don't know. I can tell she wants to be asleep but cant for some reason. Not too sure about thr carobel as I have t really looked into it properly yet so not sure what it contains will check that out!

Hey hon, we have just started neocate too.

The last few days I've been struggling to get my little lady to sleep and her night sleep has become more disrupted as well.

Does your LO have reflux? I really feel the carobel is helping with my dayghter's reflux. Not sure if it would help fill her up though. My LO takes between 5-7oz 5-6 times a day. (every 3 hours in day and 1 feed overnight).

It is definitely dairy free.

Xx

How interesting yOur LO is struggling with sleep too! Wonder why that is. I think Jessica is struggling wanting to do a poo sometimes?!? Did carobel make your LO constipated at all? Don want to try it if it will make that problem worse! Thanks for letting me know it is dairy free. Jess had reflux it it seems much better on the neocate she still brings up milk. It it is just spitting up rather than acid sick so that's fab!

i would try infacol or similar, we use it with neocate and it has helped loads, what are her pooh's like as Inver has constipation.

Nope, no constipation with the carobel. She was on gaviscon before and that made her really constipated. X
